Before Palestine was partitioned, Jews and Arabs were living in the same territories. The Arab-Israeli war saw Palestine carved up, but certain agreements were made about sharing the territories. Since then, and especially the massive land grab during the six day war, has seen Israel's incursions into Palestinian territory reduce the country to a few scattered areas on the overall map.

Have a look at how much land has been 'acquired' by Israel since 1948

And still, they push into Palestinian territories, forcing out families and building homes for Jewish settlers on their land.

The map of genocide makes a sad image.......Holocaust survivors would spin in the grave knowing no lesson has been learnt ,after all tomorrow it could be our turn and people could turn their heads in the same fashion.

It does sound as though this was started by Israeli soldiers stopping Muslims from celebrating Eid at some location important to them. Also it coincides with Election results, and that in itself can give politicians excuses to cause unrest with their use of military power, if election results are not going their way.

I know people are saying it's a land grab etc, but weighing everything up, that is an action of consequence relating to the former suggestions I'm assuming above. Basically what I'm saying is that Benny Netty guy caused this shhite, because he was losing his grip, so start a war, get the Jews all on your side, stay in power.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've not seen or read anything yet, that has convinced me otherwise.
It was probably started by a goat going missing 3,500 years ago.

*10,000 years ago <ok>

The earliest remnants of domesticated goats dating 10,000 years before present are found in Ganj Dareh in Iran. Goat remains have been found at archaeological sites in Jericho.

It's not really embarrassing when the Equality and Human rights commission found the Labour party guilty of unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination, under Jeremy Corbyn.

How did their investigation of the Tory party get on?

I'm not sure how that's relevant in this conversation?

Julia pointed out that it was embarrassing what Jeremy Corbyn was called out for, I pointed out that it wasn't an embarrassment as it wasn't baseless and the party was found guilty under his leadership.

@brb I know you like to do your homework

There's a really good breakdown of the Israel/Palestine conflict here. Nice bite sized chunks.

Today’s lines largely reflect the outcomes of two of these wars, one waged in 1948 and another in 1967.

The 1967 war is particularly important for today’s conflict, as it left Israel in control of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, two territories home to large Palestinian populations:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why does it jump straight to and focus on the 1967 war. What happened with homes and land after the 1948 war?

I honestly don't know.

As far as I know, the tensions between Jews and Arabs were there anyway and after 1948 when Palestine was partitioned, the UN carved it up to allow Jewish settlers from Europe to descend into the newly formed Israel, inside the old Palestinian territory.

The Palestinians never agreed to the UN settlements, as they saw it (and you can argue justifiably so) that it was the thin end of the wedge of Israeli domination in the territory.

When Palestine was partitioned, there were roughly double the amount of Palestinians than Jews living there, yet the UN gave Israel more land than than the Palestinians. Since then Palestine has been squeezed into the West Bank and Gaza, with Israeli settlements constantly being built in the West Bank.

Explain the cabal.

Palestine had previously been controlled by the Ottomans and Palestinians were not allowed to live freely there, they were a subjugated minority.

This ****s been going on for hundreds of years.
