I said at the time we should have kept him as he had outstanding potential, but some of our fans constantly got on his back and pushed him out the door. Shame really, could have been a club legend and better than anything we’ve got in centre midfield currently. I just hope he doesn’t make us pay in a few weeks time.

I totally agree with you on this. Massive lads fan, great attitude but fans never game him the lickings of a dog

He has done well there but was pretty average here lets be honest. When he left most fans were not bothered. I personally was done with him when as captain he bottled taking a penalty for us against Pompey in the final.

I'm not surprised in any way that you, Wolfy, said "I said at the time we should have kept him as he had outstanding potential" though there's probably no way of seeing any evidence of you actually saying it at the time.

You must be 'in your element' because of this, too . . . . the chance to post a glowing report about someone who plays for a club other than S.A.F.C. and in the same post taking the opportunity to have another dig at our fans. I'm not in the least bit surprised about that, either.

    Well done that man <cheers>

Nailed on to get a hat trick and two assists when we play them.
I also said we never should have sold him.
Although I said it quietly to myself when I was alone. <laugh>
Obviously more Hull fans buy 442 magazine.

Agree completely. He was never great when here. In the championship every attack stopped when he got the ball. Leadbitter gets slated fir “passing sideways and backwards” that was all Honeyman could do here. Not denying he’s been very good in thus division. Although I’m not sure how fans of all 72 clubs could’ve seen a great deal of him!!

Just cause he wins a magazine vote doesn't make it official unless you're a child at school arguing with your mates, I'll wait until the efl players player of the year thank you and I'll definitely will say it won't be him

I thought Honeyman was massively underrated when here. Wasn't spectacular but kept us ticking over in possession.

I liked Honeyman too. Kept it simple and would try and look for one twos between the lines. Thought him and Gooch had a particularly good understanding at times. Shouldn't have burdened him with the captaincy here.

He was a young lad here who we didn't give a chance to develop. He is now one of the top assisters in the league and his range of passing and technique has improved massively over the past year. We need to be more patient with our players!

    "Officially" <laugh>

Is that like when The Chronicle replayed the derby match until Newcastle won ...

  17. Good points. Also should be mentioned that he played here under a very poor coaching regime, constantly changing, and,as a consequence,in a team with a losing mentality. Very difficult to shine as a young player in the dark days.

This is officially the 4th time, in the last few weeks, the OP has reported on what our rivals are saying about us ...

... almost as if he spends all his time looking for shyte to throw at the club and the supporters.

Honeyman... was a decent player not great, not poor and always gave 100%. Sunderland in his dna, iirc not his choice to leave.

Scowen is a bit like him but not so good.

Not sure if I would have rated him best in L1 though.
