Steve Gibson's chauffeur wins compensation. What did they expect him to do, drive a car or something?

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/14492637/steve-gibson-sacked-chauffeur-text-fnuts/

I reckon I've misread it but...

He must have one hell of a legal team, given it says his defence for sending a text calling his bosses wife '****ing nuts' for asking for a lift was, 'he was referring to his dog, not her".

I guess he'll make a living with his dog as a stage act now. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

As a ventriloquist maybe because he'll find it difficult to find a job driving a car for £600 a week.

Buffon given a one match ban for blasphemy.
According to the new "Blasphemy Law," the Italian FA allows referees to send off any player who says God's name in vain. The player could also get suspended by the FA if the referee did not punish him. In this case, all you need is a replay, which confirms the player was saying "God."

Buffon promptly explained the misunderstanding by saying that he spoke out the word "Zio" (Uncle) and not the word "Dio" (God).

"The idea may be be fair, but let's see who can prove that the player said Dio, Zio or Dino," said Buffon.

Anyone else reminded of The Life of Brian?

In some countries the suspension for blasphemy would be at the end of a rope. If your head was still attached by then.

no idea where to put this as i can't be doing with the hassle and ear-ache of starting a new thread, so it's going here.

was on the bbc news pages and saw a link saying something like "maradonna - hero or villain?" i followed the link expecting a bit of text and the clear verdict that he wsa a moderately adequate footballer but a cheat and a druggie, and therefore a total ****er. unfortunately the link led to a radio programme. when i saw that it was around 45 minutes, i lost the interest i had. maradonna is a total irrelevance to me and a 45 minute radio programme is already 45 minutes longer than i could be bothered with. so i thought i'd leave the link here because i'm guessing others might be interested in the lard-arsed chemical pin-cushion. so it's below. it anyone could summarise the verdict into maybe a couple of line, i'll read them. cheers.
