The tragedy is that most pro-EU people felt that in Starmer, there was a leader who could win back the Red Wall seats by consistently, over and over again, pointing out what they, and the rest of us, have lost with Brexit. Labour’s demise will be sealed when the SNP win the Scottish Parliamentary elections in May and embark on the route to indyref2. Labour are caught between two stools, as opposing independence, the traditional party line, will lose them votes, whereas if they change course and back the SNP, they lose any chance of ever forming a majority at Westminster.
Once Scottish Independence has been achieved, Labour may as well pack up and go home.
