That article can be read in different ways ... was Bruce incapable of finding a means to harness the best out of him? Was Bruce persuaded by Meyler and Quinn to send him packing. A cart horse has to do lots of work, but a grade one race horse needs pampering. I am surprised that he was dismissed - he doesn't seem to have been a disruptive like Jimmy Glass Legs Bullard. Should more have been done...accept the blueprint and get the best out of it.

Incredibly talented player.

Without doubt one of the most skillful players of the twenty first century.

Potentially could have been our greatest ever signing.

Wasted it all though by being a arrogant, lazy numpty however.

Meyler says it like it is here. If Ben Arfa had had Meylers attitude to match his own talent he could have being one of the all time greats.

He really could have been that good.

What a waste.

He was good before he came here, he was good when he left - anyone who saw him hauled after half an hour at Man U, and I did, could tell he didn't want to be here any more - whether it was because he thought Bruce was a useless **** or whether he thought he was too good to play for little old Hull, one can only guess

I was at the Man Utd game . It was not a surprise to see Ben Arfa substituted early as his contribution that day was nothing . I exerted more effort opening my bag for the stewards when entering the ground than BA did for Hull City .

He was slagged off by the French for being a waste of a shirt too, we can't all be wrong.

Apart from the Man U game were Bruce actually screamed at him move for **** sake, I saw him play for us at the Emirates were he was a complete shadow

Truth of the matter is if he’d had the character as well as his obvious class no way he would of played for us, probably end up a Barca or real legend....World Cup winner etc !!!

Ben Arfa was a highly talented player, but like many, lacked the work ethic needed to be a great. Messi and Ronaldo have it, many just don't seem to.

He only played 15 times for France in his whole career, which shows that he just didn't perform at is best enough times.

Would a different manager get more from Ben Arfa than Bruce did, probably yes, but there is no doubt he is just a flawed hugely talented player, that just wasn't able to be consistent enough.

With the possible exception of Nice, he was a pain in the arse for all the clubs he played for, his career was blighted by an appalling attitude.

We were just one of a long list of clubs who found out, to their cost, that he was a complete ****er.
