I dont know anything about that off the top of my head, other than that they were reported as old and sick people, and the conclusion was that the vaccine wasnt the cause of death.
Just a coincidence then? Right. What do the experts say about the method of action of the AZ vaccine and how it causes this odd combination of low platelets and clotting? If they are making a clear and specific causal relationship claim they obviously know the reason for the link and which people should avoid the AZ vaccine because they are at risk from it.
They gave specific medical details, of an immune reaction. What I read was all in Norwegian, though I saw it described partly at least in the Guardian. I can go back and find it, and translate it later, after the football at least.
Cheers. I’ve been trying to find out how many Norwegians have had the AZ jab. Perhaps you can from Norwegian language sources.I see that there have been about 720,000 administered in total. If it’s more than 30,000 for AZ this would rate as a ‘Very Rare’ reaction. If that is the conclusion, they need to publish a risk analysis. Is it worth the rising infection rate not to use the AZ jab? What did the people who suffered this reaction have in common? how many lives/ hospital days will not using the AZ vaccine cost? Norway has a fantastic low death rate, only about 12 or so a week since the pandemic started, perhaps for them the trade off is more balanced, it could be that they wait and use the Pfizer jab exclusively (only 35,000 yellow card reports on that one in the U.K., with over 100,000 different post jab reactions recorded -https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...irus-vaccine-summary-of-yellow-card-reporting) Perhaps when you’ve been losing 2,400 a week it’s a pretty easy risk to take on.
According to media about 120 thousand have been vaccinated with the AZ vaccine in Norway. A few more than these 3 reactions have been reported in Norway, 1 other person died. But It does seem rare though very serious and more of them seem to surface. German specialists have come to the same conclusions as these in Norway. I believe the Health/ Medicine authorities in Norway are still looking for more information before deciding what they will do. The Minister said Norway will finish vaccinating earlier in the summer without AZ because of the longer time between AZ doses, and today I read they have a lot of Johnson and Johnson coming in, 1 dose only, plus extra Pfizer. Pfizer and Modena have delivered what was promises, AZ hadn't, so stopping the use of it wouldnt be so critical apparently, though right now with a big rise in infections, very much from mutations found in the UK and to a lesser extent South Africs, hospitals are getting full, and I think they want more vaccine immediately. The 3 people covered were I think hospital workers under 50 and female, but some of the others who suffered were older and some Male. Hope this helps. I have family in the UKi ncluding my eldest son, who have already had the AZ vaccine jab and hope the 2 nd jab goes ok. for them. Have younsters in Norway, who I hope can get vaccinated by one of the others rathet than AZ. I'm with the Mrs in Thailand where it will be Sinovac or AZ. Sinovac currently not being given to the over 65's, so it will be AZ or nowt for me as it stands now.
As expected. BREAKING: The EU threat to block the export of more than 19 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine destined for Britain will be discussed on Thursday. It already has the backing of Macron and Merkel
If you actually knew what you were talking about I would explain it to you. However whatever I and a few others post you just come back with sarcastic idiotic replies.
At least you’ve moved on from crying about likes. I know you aren’t gullible enough to buy the simplified version of this but others are. The article is designed to appeal to the absolute dregs of society who just want a “bUt ThE eU” story. It’s time to get over the Brexit you won.
The UK has seen the third consecutive day with a record number of COVID vaccinations, after 873,784 people received a jab over 24 hours.
A new US study, using 32k people of all ages shows that the Oxford vaccine gives 100% protection against serious illness and 79% protection against getting Covid 19. And.......not one case of blood clots!!! This sounds fantastic, although I'm not expert enough to know if that's a big enough trial to count for much? Stan?
That is not a bad trial Col. And supports ( no actually strengthens what we thought we knew) It stops serious disease ( and as said before, with new treatments like dexamethasone, gives us more time to treat the few sicker people)...Stops symptom development in the "stronger" people.too The thing they haven't measured is transmissibilty but it is quite logical that will be decreased in strength and duration too. So actually brilliant news. I am sure Pfizer and Moderna will have similar figures. If politicians would stop being idiots we can get on and beat this thing
Very similar headlines in all the papers, including Observer and Sunday Times, and direct quotes from Von der Leyen along the lines of ‘we have the power to stop AZ exporting unless they deliver to EU countries first’. I suspect it’s a genuine threat, and the more panicky of the EU national leaders, including Macron and Merkel, will support it, though there are plenty of other countries - Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Ireland - which won’t. If it is carried out I’m sure our government of grown ups will respond by ‘reluctantly’ preventing the export of critical components for the Pfizer jab from where they are made in Yorkshire to the Pfizer plant in Belgium. I wonder if the EU leaders have asked themselves why AZ appears to prioritise just about any other customers over them? Thanks Ossie. It’s all a bit of a mess. Wot Beth said. It’s a big trial in the circumstances, but you would need the biggest of all time, hundreds of thousands of participants, to pick up blood clots, and that still wouldn’t prove that they were linked to the vaccine.
Wot Beth said. It’s a big trial, but remember half of those people aren’t getting the vaccine. You would need the biggest of all time, with hundreds of thousands of people getting the vaccine, to pick up the blood clots, and even then it wouldn’t prove a link. The Norwegians might be on to something, but even if they are if you have thousands dying of the virus it’s a more than acceptable risk, and one that is taken every day with countless other medicines. The fact that possible side effects are frequently linked to supply issues rather detracts from the argument, in my view. Oops, odd posting duplicate.
These EU threats are showing them in their true colours I'm afraid. Even someone as anti-EU (the political entity, not the people of Europe) as me, couldn't have predicted the complete ****wittery from them over this. Just what we need....a vaccine war.
