The commentator just said 'Jones was in the right place at the right time' ...

... FFS man, he ran 40 bloody yards on a total off chance <doh>

Give us some credit you bellends.
Smug, I've passed waiting for any of the TV commentators giving us any credit whatsoever, it's always the other team having an off day, just sick of it.
Think it was David Coleman in the 73 cup final who last said anything positive about us.

Look at Johnson man, that’s a man serene as ****, he knows what’s happening here.

He is doing a magnificent job, I’m done understating it now.

Play badly, we get points. Play well, we show people up.

Delighted with him.
Absolutely. Moved up another level tonight. You can see the players are starting to get it Our passing and movement was excellent but our shape and work rate when we didn’t have the ball was outstanding. Portsmouth just didn’t know what to do Pass it backwards or lump it aimlessly forward

Cracking all round performance that.

O'nien man of match and superb again at CB. He dominates any centre forward he is up against.

Winchester was immense in the middle, so destructive and kept it simple when he had. Even put a couple of showboat passes in last 10.

Jones is outrageously good. As someone else said should probably a rule against having both him and McGeady in the same team in this league

Thumbs up to McFadzean as well - solid. Seemed happy to have a battle.

Notice how happy and together they looked at the end. We have every chance with these lads and coaches.

Now lets go to Wembley with the strongest team we can and win the cup!
O’nien was class, could’ve given him man of the match at half time. Plays anywhere effortlessly, has to be one of the best players in the league.

I thought that was a penalty in real time but I really can't see how it is now and each replay just tells me it wasn't. Cant understand were the presenters are coming from. Be interested to hear what the Pompey supporters think?

Either way no one can argue that we didn't deserve it and I really don't think we got beyond 3rd gear

First time I think we're going up. Can walk this League now.
I'm not as 'expirienced' as some on here, but when SAFC get momentum going we are hard to stop. Personally I'm buzzing after that performance and it's onwards and upwards for me. If fans were back at the SoL we would win every home game we have left. Easy.

Just want to sum up my thoughts on tonight as been too nervous to come in here:

  • everyone absolutely brilliant
  • Proudest I’ve been to be a Sunderland fan in a long time. Effort and application tremendous.
  • Luke O’Nien was just immense. First time I’ve seen him at CB and completely blown away.
  • Jordan Jones permanent signing is an even bigger no brainer than M’Vila was
  • Kevin Phillips still has never had a correct opinion

Never a penalty, clueless these bastards, look at the direction the ****in ball went!

Keeper made it easy? Aye, of course he did, great composed finish.

I agree with KP me. I think it was a pen like. Should have said Jones finished well.

He is dour with Safc.

Phillips on Jones goal.... Blames keeper. No credit to Jones. As for Flannigan... He kicked the ball first man.. Not a nailed on pen at all

Yeah, I couldn't understand that! If as Phillips says he got enough of the ball and its the follow through that brought the player down, how can it be a stone wall penalty??? :emoticon-0138-think

If I hadn’t just spent a grand on this telly at Xmas I’d have flung the remote through it watching the commentary and pundits on sky. Arseholes the lot of them , it’s like we’re not allowed to be good because we’re Sunderland so it has to be the other team’s failings that got us the win.

can’t wait to get out of this **** league.
