NUFC are apparently appealing the decision. It seems that NUFC and the PL agreed on the chair and then the relationship between the chair/ EPL and Bird and Bird came to light afterwards.

I doubt that we have heard the last of this.

Yeah I read it, and that was their reason for the action, when he refused to recuse himself, but they’ve now lost that case, so surely it’s just time to crack on? Did they mention an appeal in their statement today?

Said they're considering appeal.

I guess it depends on their advice. It's in the public domain and there will be a lot of scrutiny. Plus, the judge recommended puication of the arbitration decision to aide transparency.

NUFC has suggested they will fight for the takeover. That is open to interpretation.

What's in the public demain? Isn't it just this case?

They tried to stop publication of the High Court judgement, particularly their relationship with the chair. The cat is out of the bag.
they don't want their dirty washing aired in public
says a lot when they wanted all traces of their dealings to be omitted
must have a lot to hide fighting the decision so vehemently

Makes you wonder what else will come out.

This might go to appeal. To be fair though, Lord Neuberger, one of the panel, is a superb judge.

He is president of the Supreme Court.

Hmmmm I dunno I mean today's news is merely confirmation of what I have concluded already, but I'm really not sure who will win and if it goes to court then obviously its 50/50
This is why it would be better all round if a compromise was negotiated allowing the takeover to go ahead without it all going to court.
Lots of skeletons etc

So does this mean tomorrow’s game is the most important in our history. Honest question.

Win and we might stay up and we might become the worlds richest football club.

No but it's definitely the next most important game mate, but personally I can't convince myself that the club will win arbitration.. It will be just just so newcastle to lose arbitration to decide if it will become the richest club on earth.

It was a planned "loss" by Nick De Marco. Have the panel names made public so that there is transparency. They wanted the arbitration panels decision made public. That will now happen.

I know what you mean mate. I’ve read the full transcript NDM posted and although I don’t understand some of it the PL are digging their heels in.

Its ****ing mental that the sticking point is the o and d test. Which was changed, under the advise of the actual chap who is chairing the arbitration, to stop takeovers of this sort?

How is that even fair?

Just got to hope that NDM and the other lady are as good as they say they are.

@Sheikh_of_Araby am I right what I am saying in the middle here sheikh? The chair of the arb is the guy who advised the PL on the changes to the o and d test? Or am I making that up?

And the PL didn’t want that. It feels like a loss mate reading the full transcript and reading the PL arguments as to why they want KSA to be a director does sound quite convincing!
