Walsall went down from the Championship with 51, so did Peterborough. It probably won’t be that high this season, but it’s not impossible.

Let's get a semblance of realism here shall we .. we aren't going to get relegated .. we aren't going up in auto's.. and we arent in this form likely to get into the play offs .. so will daft lad persevere with even dafter lad .. or is it time to shake the tree a bit. They aren't going to sell the club for the ridiculous price they're wanting in League 1 .. so quite simply they cream off interest payments and incoming transfer fees while treading water .. or they look to push to get into the Championship next season which will raise the value of the club moderately. Of course the latter would be a gamble and potentially require investment. I think I know which is likely !

Last full season in Division 1 the team 4 th from the bottom had 47 points, bottom of the table team had 41.If we didn't get another point for the rest of the season the amount we have now would have seen us in 17th place. People thinking we could get relegated this season need to get a grip.

As ive said, there are 3 players that will sustain the club and interest for another season... thereabouts... plus the instalments for Bowen...

They still don't get their money back even by pocketing all of the bowen fee. The club runs at a loss in league 1 so wheres the interest payments coming from?

They really do need us in the Championship to run at break even and take some interest out.

They don't even maximise their future transfer fees by selling players as they're worth far less playing in league 1 as would be in the championship.

Ehab has backed us this season - he wouldn't have if he didn't need promotion to keep us ticking over and recoup his outlay. I don't see McCann getting the chop until promotion or playoffs are mathematically impossible, and if that happens there's no point in changing before the end of the season.

My bet would be it will be summer at the earliest for a change.

spot on, the Allams business plan is to keep City permanently in debt to Allamhouse ie the Allam family, invest none of their personal money & make millions a year in interest payments on the loan that never goes down. They have never had any intention of selling the club whilst they can continue to earn money from it. Making money from Hull City has been their sole intention from the day they purchased the club.

You mean like any owner of a business?

Bar they very fortunate few who have super rich fans as onwers or owned by oil Barrons

Also, how do they pay themselfs anything if the club is running at a loss like it does in L1?

Hull City made a pre tax profit in 2019/20 of £2.8 million. Look at the payments made to Allamhouse Limited in Hull City accounts every year. This year in Div1 they may well make a loss after the payments are made to Allamhouse Limited

Oh I don't think we'd go down this season at all. Mathematically it's not impossible but I can't see it happening to us.

It's easy to say that the Allams are deliberately wanting to keep us in League One, but I really don't think that's the case. Sure, it's probably cheaper to run, but with the scrapping of the salary cap, we will have serious financial muscle on the other sides (bar Sunderland and whomever comes down) if we don't go up. The money made in the Championship is a lot more, the TV revenue is larger for one.

The millions a year in interest payments have to come from somewhere and there aren't millions in League One. If you're a League One club selling a player like KLP, you'll get a lot less than you would selling him as a Championship club. From a football point of view they know **** all, but from a business point of view I find it highly unlikely they want us to actually be a League One club long term.

I wasn't suggesting you did. Some others seemed to think it was a possibility though.

The only way I can see it happening is if we were somehow deducted points and I can't think of a scenario where that would happen.

I bet Rehab has called him in for a chat after that latest shambles, that latest horrendous interview with Burnsie and the latest collapse in form & results!
Question is whether Rehab has the intelligence to finally sack the muppet. Oh ****, Rehab and intelligence in the same sentence - we're ****ed.

right, but what I meant was the Allams don’t care if Hull City makes a profit this year, which they would then have to pay tax on,as long as the interest payment to Allamhouse Limited ie themselves is made. City are still owed millions this year from West Ham for Jarod Bowen. If the Allams wanted Hull City to make a profit they could easily do that by making the loan from Allamhouse Limited interest free & not 5% per annum.

I can't believe my joke about relegation has actually spawned a sincere debate. Maybe I should call Ehab and tell him a joke about selling the club.

Agreed that relegation would be very unlikely - but then again many said that last year too. Teams have finished 4th from bottom of their league with 53 points before now - including Hull City (albeit in the 4th tier). So its mathematically possible but even City, even with McCann's 'second half of the season' record can't screw things up that badly can they?

Given the dire performances of our so called star players who would want to take any of them. If Ehabs plan is to continue to milk the club for the interest payments and stay in this league using player sales then unless they get better coaching none of this team based on current performance are going to a higher league

Our star players ar kids - Honeyman and doc aside.

Someone will take a punt but the only way we'll get decent coin is if they're doing it in the league above.
