Sounds like you had a better evening than the rest of us!! I reckon now that Tis never stood a chance with this shower of **** he inherited, and can count himself a little unfortunate - Barton should be told to write off this season and rebuild with a view to div 2 football next season, on which he will be judged. Wael should forget about a new ground anywhere else, apply for permission to redevelop the Mem as far as we can and cut our losses. Lets be honest, we don't need a big stadium that's all singing, all dancing. We are NEVER going to be anything other than a div 2/div 1 club, flitting between the two leagues, so a tarted up version of what we already own will suffice for us. We will never fill anything bigger so why pay for it. Crewe have got a lovely little ground that might not have a huge capacity, but puts ours to shame - and they are more likely to need a bigger stadium than we are, any time soon. We need to accept our limitations and forget any aspirations we may have for the future, because it simply isn't going to happen. We have always been a bottom tier club (div 3/4) and always will be, so the club needs to accept that and make the best of it.I've had a good evening. I've watched a comedy film with the family and had a laugh. Usually im in my own little bubble listening/watching our games but I stayed away. We got a takeaway from domino's (no pineapple on them don't worry). Same again this Saturday afternoon.
I've popped on to see the score and im glad I stayed away from the game and saved a tenner. This does hurt me to say but I will say it... I just don't care anymore. We had to win tonight in my opinion. Results tonight elsewhere means we could be bottom come 5pm Saturday. Good luck to those who will watch/listen to it![]()
Once we had hired Barton I thought well maybe he could be the guy to kick the players into action after a couple of 'soft' managers.Sounds like you had a better evening than the rest of us!! In fairness I think it will take Barton a little while to see what each player can do.Barton made all the same old team selection mistakes and then left it far too long to make the changes. This is now reminding me of the Buckle/ Penny era, and I'm not at all optimistic. It was probably the worst time to appoint a new manager, and I think we're going down.
Certainly cause for optimism and a feather in JB's cap for actually getting the side to play like a proper football team for much of the game. A much improved performance all round by the sounds of it, despite the wobbly last 10 minutes when I was afraid we were going to chuck it all away again! Hopefully that win will instill some belief and confidence in the players and they will put up a good performance on Tuesday evening. 16 games left now, that's 48 points up for grabs, if we assume we will need @50 points to survive, another 20 points needed. That shouldn't be beyond us, should it?.......................................................................!The first win of the Barton era - we’re clear by 2 points which is good news.
JvS came on for the injured Joe Day and saved a last minute shot to preserve the win. Sounded like we dominated the game but almost gave it away again right at the end.
Hope this is the point where we put a run together and move away from danger.
4, Why did we play in black and gold at home instead of the blue and white quarters - were they in the wash?
