Relegation doesn’t hurt quite as much as you think it will. Very little beats the buzz of promotion.

So ending up in League One, then climbing back to the PL, (and Europe) is an experience I wouldn’t have missed for the world.

Anyway, don’t give up hope mate. There’s plenty of time for your club to implode and end up in the dungeon of despair. Followed (though this bit’s not guaranteed) by a magnificent resurgence.

Always found the moment promotion was secured slightly underwhelming tbh. More about the buzz on the way there, doing away days I wouldn’t honestly bother with when seventeenth and winning regularly at **** tips up north.

Winning in the playoff final in the 90th minute the obvious exception.

Hammer’s Cup Final today mate <ok>

(bet they enjoy it more than you enjoy yours).

I never get why we are so important to them tbh. The only killer game to lose is the NLD.
****ing hate that game...feel nervous all week, wake up feeling sick gets worse until the final whistle and I spend the 90 mins praying to a god I don't believe in that the useless mofos don't break my heart.

1999- 2008 was ****ing horrendous tbh.

Can't even watch the game unless I'm there or at a pub with mates...always go out for a walk to avoid the stress of it. Can't even describe the homicidal rage that losing induces <grr>
No other game does that.

As for our actual cup final...gotta enjoy the build up cos they will do to us what they did to Arsenal (at best) or, God forbid, what they did to Watford <yikes>

Last time we got relegated, which was to L2, all the odds were in our favour to stay up, and gradually one by one all the results went against us as we lost at Wycombe. I think something like five other teams had to do better than us on the final day, and they all did. Worst day ever.

Think you'll find it was the funniest thing ever.

Gillingham beat Southampton in the penultimate match and their fans invade the pitch thinking they've stayed up... Only for every result to go against them on the final day and they still get relegated <laugh>

It's only a game, Ponky <cheers>

Not sure if you have a midlands equivalent. Villa v Birmingham would probs be the closest I suppose. But the gut wrenching feeling of losing a derby is a pain only known by a fan of those teams. And it makes the whole experience pretty unpleasant. Unless you win of course <ok>

No, it was not funny, it was a fooking disaster. Not sure but I think we ended up going down on GD. Southampton was seen as securing our place in the league, the various mathmatical equations that followed, and gradually unfolded one by one against us. :(

Mainly because they never play Miiiiiilllllwall.

We do have them ... Forest, Derby and Cov ... all depends what part of Leicester(shire) you come from in terms of the intensity ... also rivalries with the West Midlands clubs ... was really just pulling your pud. <laugh>

You got dicked 4-0 at Wycombe didn't you? Can't really complain too much though as you didn't win away all season iirc.

Who are Newcastle losing against today?

that Fulham win yesterday will have Bruce worried.

Villa n Brum 'closest' lol? That's far superior to the NLD.

Yeah crazy season, virtually impossible to beat at home, but away couldn't win a single game. Both Southampton and Leeds failed to beat us at home, yet we get tanked at Wycombe. That was under Mark Stimson, some pretty nasty stuff ended up going his way, not from me I hasten to add.

Yep I meant you as in Lesta ;) I know about the Midlands rivalries. Forest/Derby Villa/Brum, but Leicester don't really have an immediate local rival with the same intensity.

I was laughing about that for ages. Funny as ****.

Think I've told you before but I was also there when you were relegated from the second tier up at Forest in a 2-2 draw. They were already down iirc.

I know it was 2005 as a week before/later I saw us get relegated too lol.

We are within 30 miles of Forest, Derby and Cov ... and share a county border with each ... always fun days out ... Forest and Derby see each other as number 1 for sure ... Cov possibly us ... but nobody likes Villa.
