On checking our fixture list I see we have 7 games in Feb, of which 5 are away. This seems a very strange imbalance to the fixture list. This means that in the remaining 13 games after that we have 8 at home. Looks like February could be a massively important month for us.

Good job we're top of the away form table. Having said that we're 2nd in the home form table.

Can't see any point in us giving him another playing contract.
Heavily implied there that an extension would be much more focused on him coaching than playing. Unless we're squeezed on a squad limit, I wouldn't mind him being on a contract that reflects that.

Ever-present in the Reading midfield this season, I wonder if this upsets their dressing room a little.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has become Sunderland chairman at the age of 23 after his takeover of the League One club was approved by the EFL.

The Frenchman is the son of former Marseille owner Robert Louis-Dreyfus and becomes the youngest chairman in English football.

Former Sunderland owner Stewart Donald will keep a minority shareholding.

"Kyril's commitment, acumen and integrity convinced us to accept his proposal," Donald said.

"His vision and desire to bring success back to Sunderland was obvious from the outset and his bid is the one that we feel gives the club the best chance of long-term success and sustainability."

Don't it make you feel old?

He's some sort of cousin, then, to Julia.

Acumen, commitment? Bah! It's the money!

(The General must be really busy with his little girl. He rarely shows up here anymore. I hope he doesn't mind me borrowing his tag line.)
