Holloway Rd is a bit closer. But yeah I use Arsenal tube on the way back because Holloway rd is so packed after the game. The times I’ve been too, I like to go and have a look around the old stadium site and there’s a chippy on the corner of Avnell Rd and Gillespie rd which is a bit of a homage for me. Not sure why you’d go to Arsenal Tube before the game though, unless you were wanting to and see the aforementioned above. And whilst there certainly used to be loads of vendors in those gardens outside of Highbury, they’ve all moved up towards the Emirates. Anyway, Fosse was trying to have a little dig with that ‘you’d know coz you are a regular’ snide, so I was just putting him straight.
I have, at my work. Proper fan who stood and shivered for many years, watching mostly **** football, and dreaming about Martin O'Neil. Until the miracle happened. Still a nice guy, quite humble, pinches himself every day, never gives it large. Because, you know, Leicester. Not all that, never have been, never will be, despite the fairytale.
Tobes taking 4am shots like a seasoned sniper. Got Fosse right in his king prawn from 800 yards while he slept.
Had to wait for the EY guy mate ... was starving ... hour on a train from Hertfordshire ... kiosk is called "Fred's Foot Long Dogs" or someat similar ... free beers throughout the game ... Will have posted about it at the time on match threads (the game, not the dog ... roll was a bit dry in fairness) ...
... those of us that have supported them for as long as I have (and longer) will always be quite humble (in reality) ... some of the younger fans might have different expectations now... The image below reflects the culmination of a lifetime supporting one club... and also that dreams sometimes come true. Should have framed it really but instead it has been in my wallet every day ... hence starting to get a bit frayed around the edges
Dry February mate ... we couldn't do Jan due to daughter turning 21 ... had to watch the game yesterday with a coffee ... purgatory...
Quickly becoming your net of defeat that pic mate. Anyway, fosse I don't want to spend my Sunday arguing with you, so have a good day mate
Midtable battle for us today against Leeds. You don't know what you are getting with them, they could turn up and bang 4 past us, or it could go the other way and they concede 4. We're just as unpredictable to be fair, but it's pretty much become a must win game for us. If we can get 3 pts today it puts us 2pts behind the Spuds and back in with that pack chasing 4th.
Leeds are an exceptionally well coached and hard working side, but lacking in quality. Arsenal probably the opposite tbh. A very great man used to say "hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard", but there might just be too big a gulf in class today. Unless Leeds are 2-0 up before Arsenal realise the game has started, which is perfectly possible.
A scenario that is entirely plausible, the way we came out in that second half against Wolves after losing a man and conceding a pen was criminal and before we knew it we were 2-1 down with 10 men (then 9) and the game was gone. You'd hope we'd bounce back after that, as we'd been on a decent run of form. But another insipid performance against Villa and we got done again. I've no idea what the score will be today. I can't see Leeds not scoring though, so let's hope it's a 5-4 belter to us
Fulham will get something today! Everton are not the same without lewin and they tend to struggle vs the sides in the relegation battle.
