You said no one had heard of Southampton until 1976....I thought that strange, considering you played them in a cup game in 1970, ..as you said, you started going in 1969...
I'll quote you again;
'there were 39,000 at a packed Filbert Street for my first game in the old second division in 1969... more than we get in the Prem now (and more than you have ever had in your history).. it's all relative ... Portsmouth were a force in olden times ... no ****er had ever heard of Southampton until 1976'

chopper chopper down.Found the bicycle kick bit there Matthkem?
Ahhh I now I get you ... fair play ... I was there for that Cup game too ...![]()
Why did you wait til you were 40 to go to your first match @FosseFilberto ?

You sure about that, you played Southampton in the 1969/70 season

There was a wait for season tickets almost as long as the Home Counties hordes for Old Trafford mate![]()
Are you sure you was there for the cup game, you couldn't remember it 5 minutes ago.
So what's happening at Spurs, how long will Jose be given do you think?
Too busy shaggin would have been funnier.

At 10 years old? ... I was good alright but![]()
This gonna sound stupid but I've got a really random memory from a Leicester match.
Was when we was in championship before relegation to L1 and it was end of season game with nothing on it for either side.
Unusually, I wasn't in main singing section so was sat down, and halfway through second half some bald bloke of about 50 stood up and shouted at top of his voice:
'LEICESTER, LEICESTER, THE ****ING CHILD MOLESTERS!!"
Tragic and childish as **** but was hilarious at the time.

Nobody mentioned the 1930’s bro.
He will be here a while imho.
Two main reasons...
1. Levy will put himself under huge pressure if he sacks him cos ultimately he chose him.
He is the 10th manager he has employed. Only Martin Jol, Redknapp and Pochettino improved us...the other 6 were all car crashes.
2. Money. Most clubs are suffering cos of covid so I suspect the cost of sacking and then replacing him is prohibitive.
Nice story for sure ... but I've been backing a history of largely crap managers for over 50 years ... as did my father before me ... there were 39,000 at a packed Filbert Street for my first game in the old second division in 1969... more than we get in the Prem now (and more than you have ever had in your history).. it's all relative ... Portsmouth were a force in olden times ... no ****er had ever heard of Southampton until 1976![]()
