Liverpool are in talks with Preston to sign Ben Davies from Preston for £2m and deal looks increasingly set to happen. It's likely that Sepp van der Berg will go to Deepdale on loan, also.

Never seen him play but reading some scout reports - he’s quick, very good on the ball, and decent in 1v1 duels. Not good in the air though.

This guy will go from midtable championship to playing in the cl. Who wouldn't DREAM of it.
Its clear to me its a case of we are at the limit on the foreign players so have to get an English player.
After that let's just see ourselves what he looks like before writing him off.
I won't second guess anyway, cos I just don't know.
What he does do is give a guy who can be 4th choice behind vvd at lcb which is not easy to find.
I think the main point is he plays left side so can allow someone play right side cb be it Phillips or whoever.
He's meant to be at least able to pass it so who knows.
We need henderson back to cm ASAP.
Miller is already on borrowed time in there so we just have to hope we can improve as a result of this cheap shopping. (Though 2mil plus a loaned to a side that is losing the guy in the summer but is in no danger of threatening play offs nor relegation seems steep)

lonergan was 78 years old. Not 25 and in his prime and could be going to Celtic / Bournemouth and playing week in week out.
he won’t really get to play with WC players because he won’t play unless Hendo Fabinho get another injury

No chance we start a prem or Cl game with him and Phillips at CB together. So question is, is he any better than Phillips who has been training with squad and system all season?
