The fundamental flaw in the stance of some of the the Covid death doubters is that Covid being present didn't in any way contribute to the actual death.

Covid whilst being most dangerous to those with respiratory issues also undermines the effectiveness of our immune system. It may well be that an underlying illness or weakness is the prime cause of death in the end... but Covid will have been a factor either by reducing the effectiveness of the immune response thereby advancing the progress of an existing underlying issue or by causing additional complications in an already compromised individual - e.g increasing heart rate and stress to levels that can result in cardiac arrest or stroke.

As I understand it, Covid will be mentioned on a death certificate as one of the primary causes of death. It might also mention Heart disease, Pneumonia etc, but it will be the Covid that exacerbated the underlying conditions and acted as a cause of death.

So the folk who say, 'He got hit by a bus, but had Covid a month ago, so he's counted as a Covid death' are wrong. The death certificate there will be cited as death by misadventure or accident.

The deniers use the term underlying condition in a completely disingenuous way. For example, an underlying condition can include anything from diabetes and asthma to skin disorders. Also, people with chronic diseases are not classed as terminal and could have had many years of life ahead of them if COVID hadn’t taken them. The deniers are therefore delving into eugenics as they desperately try and play down the virus.

The next ruse they will use will be the over 80's who have had the vaccine and die in the next year. Statistically something like 1 in 5 over 80's will die in the next year anyway, from age related diseases. Whether they've had the vaccine or not

Watch the anti-vaxxers make an unfounded correlation with the two though.

Being fat is , for Covid , an underlying condition .

They’ve already started doing it.

Can anyone explain the reason why the EU want Astrazeneca to publish the contract between them, into the public domain.

What are they hoping to prove by this request?

People will always look at stats and bend them to fit the agenda they have.

There’s manipulation of statistics and then there’s downright lies.

Covid deniers are trying to use the normal age related deaths of over 80’s to correlate that with their deaths being linked to the vaccine.

presumably to prove signed up to a confirmed timescale for delivery rather than "best endeavours" . I was intrigued by the fact that the UK site has a higher yield in the vaccine production .

I'm actually going to stick up for Desmond Swayne, he spoke as he felt at the time. Now the media have gone on a witch hunt. Is Desmond right, NO, but he's entitled to an opinion - most of which he has been open about in the House.

That little fooking weasel Gove grates on me, he tellls Desmond to apologise, but where was Gove when Cummings went on a jolly to Durham.

The main reason I speak up for Swayne though, is there seems to be people wanting to silence free speech, in that you always have to say the right things. He was wrong. He also don't agree with wearing masks, but he does so because that's what he's been told to do.

I saw an interview earlier where the Germans are furious. But it was made clear, that they are not blaming the UK but the dithering on the EU.

Being ou of the EU in the case of the vaccine has been on e real plus point in all of this. Maybe it's one of the things the UK finally got right in this global ****storm...
