It's OK to be racist if you want to **** off Owen Jones!
All of this goes way above my head, but, on reflection I'd say a better way of moderation would be to moderate ones self by not posting when you've just finished off a six pack of Special Brew or a couple of bottles of a particular nice red. Not you Omega Man..Jesus wept.
Its a ****ing football forum.
I don't give a toss if my posts get deleted. Well I do really but once they have gone what's the point?
Let me tell you all, what I truly think and believe... No one is perfect, everyone gets things wrong and instead of ****ing getting angry or upset, just sit down, take a breath and smile. All of this is simply just petulance and in reality it serves no purpose. If you think it does, try this simple exercise, tell someone you love and respect why this thread has got you worked up and watch their face as they look puzzled. Be careful though, they will start asking you questions like "Do you have imaginary friends?"
Cliques **** me this isn't the ****ing White House for ****s sake!
This has some merit, what about a simple traffic light system on the Off Topic threads to warn people if they go off the off topic subject thus saving people from trawling 20 pages of drivel? This thread sums up most of the forum. A genuine thread that gets hijacked for other peoples agendas, ramblings and arguments. There are a lot of people, if not anyone who looks at a thread title and thinks 'this could be a good read', you get a few pages in (having to scan read, due to it going off topic) and have to look at the title of the thread to try and remind yourself what topic you were actually trying to read.
The mods need to start a new thread that is an Off Topic thread, titled Off Topic and move anything that isn't post based into that, apart from the fact it would be really funny to read as loads post random rubbish would be merged, everyone can have their bickering arguments all in one place and let everyone else get on with the original posts.
Not too many empty fields in Flanders kid....Most of them have thousands of white headstones in them.
I should've mentioned in the original post that there are many German Cemeteries around that area too..I took a look at one in 'Menen',they are so very different, very eerie and drab and to me they somehow indicate failure?I think those headstones get more respect in Flanders than they do here.
No one there tries to use their supreme sacrifice to try and make political capital out of them, unlike some 'radicals' here.
The last post at Menin Gate was outlawed by the occupying Germans in WW2 , then on the first night of liberation the locals started it again and have been doing it ever since. There were times in the 50s and 60s when barely a handful or people were present- unlike now where it''s hundreds every night. Septics, Aussies, Canadians, Dutch even Germans. As a spectacle it's predictable, but it;s unbeatable for the way it hushes and affects onlookers.
It's OK to be racist if you want to **** off Owen Jones!
I don't post when pissed,I don't need to,what does that prove? One person in particular does and can't even shut up this morning and has continued to insult others..Morning all, how are the hang overs today? Clearly a lot of pissed & frustrated posters last night......
feels like I missed the party lol
Mods - delete this embarrassing cringe fest thread
Is it also OK to assume that you're being racist by assuming the guise of a black, murderous dictator on a message board?
Idi Amin was certainly not a British militiarist to be proud of.
It went too far last night and it's going the same way this morning....I won't post on this topic again,it's finished as far as I'm concerned. If anyone wants to continue discussing anything with me send me a private message.(That would exclude anybody who can disrespect our war dead,so this 'Kalman' character can pizza off)!!!
I think this thread has well past it's usefulness and is simply lapsing into an exchange of personal abuse.
I'll leave it a little bit longer just in case anyone has a meaningful contribution to make, but I think the take away message is that if you have an issue, don't sit and stew, raise it with the mods and it will be considered.
If posters feel a change of mods is needed, a poll with candidates to choose from will let the board decide. After all, the board belongs to the posters, not the mods, and nobody is above being moderated.
