The 'tweet that was wrong' presumably relates to the one on the covid thread? You pointed out it was implying the first jab was a full vaccination, I pointed out where that has some, albeit limited basis in fact, at which point you got a bit petulant, which was simply disrupting other peoples conversations.

More bullshit.

deleted posts to suit.

I don’t imagine it is possible for any moderator on here to avoiding letting their own views bleed into their decisions from time to time, it’s natural. Especially those with strong opinionated views. I think there are times when the moderators play fair, which is most of the time, and times when moderators go a bit off course, very occasionally.

When moderators drift off course and are picked up on that in a polite way, they would do well to reflect on what’s been said rather than just knee jerk react with hostility. When they get picked up in an offensive way, ignore that ****.

To be clear, I’m referring to DMD and OLM, not Cortez.

On the whole, good job well done.

That’s rich. He deletes posts & threads to suit his agenda, hide his ignorance. He’s a prick who needs calling out for abusing the little but of power he has.

It’s not the first time he’s been called out for it.
You're a big shot on a football thread but haven't got the balls to 'call anyone out in real life(ie:- people not wearing masks in your local supermarket)...You sunk to new lows the other night mocking handicaps and laughing at someone's illness...You've got an agenda,it's pathetic and totally unwholesome...I've never met you and wouldn't want to.

You aren’t really helping yourself by rerunning the argument, are you?

Oh **** off. You know nothing about me or the point of the other night.

It's a fair point you make.I have tried to keep it to the specific topic, but he kept on trying to make it about that, so I thought it as well to let him vent.

The application of the 'No Politics' rule is arbitrary and inconsistent. The excuse 'it's only permitted during election cycles/when politics is relevant' is ridiculous. It's impossible to separate the COVID 19 crisis from politics. The two are intertwined.

Also, on one particular thread I had a comment deleted for saying it's the government's responsibility to manage the COVID crisis, not individual citizens (hardly a partisan opinion, just common sense). Meanwhile, on the same thread, several posters, including you DMD, were making crass jokes about the Irish Potato Famine. Even mentioning the word 'government' = comments deleted but joking about the deaths of over a million people in a terrible famine? Priorities are all arse-backward.

I rarely post but read the forum most days and, on the whole, enjoy the banter. I think it's currently well moderated. In my view allowing political opinions would be a massive retrograde step and would create huge division (yes, even more than some have now).No doubt it will be pointed out that I wouldn't have to read them but I'd probably just not read the forum anymore as there's enough political ****e everywhere and this is a place I come to avoid it.

Also, I suspect there are posters who will make ridiculous comments after a few beers but who would regret them in the morning. The mods have, in the past, made a good job of tidying up some of these and saved some from embarrassment.

It's a fair point. The problem is that it's a very wavy line, and that line differs for different people. I'll not defend my posts on there, as it's irrelevant to the point you make, but there is a back story to that from my point of view, not that it's an excuse.

I think the key would be to have a way of raising such issues, which should be flagging it to a mod, and in the case you mention, obviously a different one to the mod that you feel is out of order. We do moderate each others posts in exactly the same way we do any other poster. We're human, we get things wrong sometimes.
