Moderation on here

It seems I've upset at least one poster, and they started a thread with a lot of personal abuse and nonsense, but basically they were suggesting it was time the situation on admin on here is reviewed, which is fair enough.

There's also been an increase in posts with a political basis, so maybe it's time to review that too.

So if anyone has any suggestions for different posters being mods, or for different approaches to how the board is moderated, here's a thread to discuss them, although posts just being abusive are liable to be removed so that a reasonable conversation can be had.

At the end of the day, the board belongs to the posters not the mods, so it's over to you folks.

I think a regular review on moderation should be in place anyway, regardless of how well (or bad) it is moderated.


No politics rule should absolutely remain though and should only be broken for specific threads around events such as elections.

If people want to offer a considered opinion, that's fine, but if it's used an excuse to post childish abuse as has just happened, the culprit will simply be blocked from the thread, which is surely counter productive.

Those who jump to personal insults at the first opportunity should just be banned from the threads, as for politics I agree with quill ( there's a first ) it should any be for unique events / threads

From a personal POV I think the board on a whole is looked after and moderated pretty well

This thread is here for people to offer their views. If people decide a new mod is needed, I'm happy to go with the consensus.

No offence, but you have done the same to me on match threads for even daring to criticise the team. Should you be banned?

Unlike howden, who when he does have a go, actually tries to engage in conversation, you just resort to insults.

That’s rich. He deletes posts & threads to suit his agenda, hide his ignorance. He’s a prick who needs calling out for abusing the little but of power he has.

I’ll echo these thoughts. Interested to know what others think about how the board is looking and suggestions of taking that forward.

On the whole the moderation on here is good, and it's a hard job being a moderator. Those that don't like it have three choices, complain, accept what they object to, **** off elsewhere.
