I reckon there's a fair few on here that are the same age as old people, but when is someone defined as 'middle aged'?

Me? I tried growing up once and found it the most overrated five minutes of my life.

I think it's shifted upwards over the years. I'd say 40-65 now, whereas 30 years ago it was more like 35-60.

Taking life expectancy to be 75.... young is 0-24, middle-age 25-49 and old is 50 upwards.

I’ve always said (well since it became mildly relevant) that an individual will never know when he’s truly middle aged because it’s not possible to work out until the individual is dead.

So crack on acting like you’re still young only with achier muscles & joints.

Let the old ****s worry about it.

I’m 44, so technically I am middle aged - but I don’t feel it or act it. I’m still a big kid really

Yet, when I a young kid growing up in East Hull I viewed 44 as ancient !!!

Life is like a jar of coffee. One day the jar will break. Make sure you have drunk all the coffee before that happens. If you have finished all the coffee there’s a fair chance you are old.

I'm 41 and in the best shape I've been since I was about 17 (and discovered kebabs and beer). I've essentially spent the last 8 years trying to reverse the damage I did in my 20s and early 30s so whilst I might be classified as middle aged I feel healthier than I have in a long time

As a middle-aged non-smoker, my life expectancy is apparently now 91! Not sure whether to be happy about that or not.

Ha! I'm only a few years off my own definition of old myself.

Like others have said, I don't think physical age is important. I'm may be in my 40s and far less physically fit that I was in my 20s, but I am also far happier in life than I was then.

Personally, I don't think the time that's passed since you were born is as important as what you've done with it.

I've had my ups and some significant downs, but I'm probably the most content now than I've ever been in my life.

No idea myself. Way past 'middle age" but you just have to keep going and make the best of what's on offer.

Remember, life is like a toilet roll. The nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.

If I was actually bothered about age, it might worry me but I am not. Time goes on. Despite my prodigious intellect and powers, I haven't found a way to stop it yet. I will keep trying and let all of you 'young' people know when I succeed so that you can stop worrying ... or start.
