The problem was Beckham A midfield thee of Beckham, Gerard and Lampard did not have the bite to win the major games in the World Cup or European Cup Two of those three with a workaholic ball winner would have been better Weirdly we had too much talent and no-one could get the right combination Erickson was also too interested in his highly publicised private life Just an opinion of course
@Tobes is probably the only regular visitor. Though @Suckmyklopp does make the odd appearance as well.
Yeah I know mate. I really don't want Lamps sacked, but I do fear for him. I want us to stay strong and persevere with him, but not sure if the owner will see it that way. Write this season off with regards to the league. we are still in 2 cups so a lot to play for.
I'd agree ... games are very tight... only team that seems to be burying others right now is Citeh ... them apart, it's all to play for ... hoping Villa can nick a point off them... that would really stir the pot (but can't see it)
Yeah true. It's just so disappointing, especially with the squad we have. Still, it could be a lot worse tbf.
City are just starting to click again and look by far the best/most complete team in the league, they should win it. Your lot should just hope for the best this season, top 4 if things go well. What you have to remember is Frank spent a lot of money on several very good players, to expect them to all knit into the team at once is/was probably never his expectation, next season should start to show what they are capable of individually and as a team. Give the man a chance to prove his ideas and just hope to hang in this season.
I had an electrician here yesterday, nearly 4 hrs. A great chin wag, and a stuborn safc fan. It was a good morning. Point being, in our lifetimes, the highest we have have seen is finishing 7th, 2 seasons in a row, with Quinn and Kevin Phillips.. All downhill after that. I ****ing hate football now, for so many reasons, one of which you have highlighted. Not so long ago Chelsea were just another Sunderland, Forest, Sheff Utd, Derby etc. You struck lucky, be grateful mate.
Still have great memories of a 3 way title battle between us, Chelsea and Sunderland in the 80s ... in the old second division ... the differing fortunes of all 3 clubs since would make a pretty good documentary...
he actually mentioned a game when we were 2 up against lester, and had some daft **** behind him was screaming about not being further ahead. Massive differences between the 3 clubs since.
Dont think I'm not grateful. I've seen a lot of ****, relegation etc. We should be setting our sights higher than that now imo.
