I think when all the players are this bad the manager is probably the issue. I mean they just can't all be this ****
Bruce wanted a reaction to last weeks game well he got it tonight it seems we are allergic to football
Shearer said this; "Manager changed players, said he wanted a change in attitude.....defended 'ok', I suppose, in the first half. But at 1-0 arms were flailing, buck was being passed, players stopped running, it's very, very worrying and nowhere near good enough". Pretty accurate. Club's utterly ****ed. To Windy's Takeover thread point - why wait for Rafa? If he's the man, bring him in now. Ashley could bite the bullet, the club could afford it and it's a small price to pay to guarantee safety.
He’s ****ing rotten: definitely the worst player to ever wear the shirt. Shocking and needs told aswell. He’s clart!
If he’d been standing any closer to the touch line he would have been off the pitch...how the **** does that even happen! Only to Joelinton that’s how!
Karen Carney Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live It should have been a lot more for Arsenal tonight. Once the second goal went in Newcastle's confidence just disappeared. Newcastle have got no mobility in the midfield, they can't press and haven't got the pace. But it would be difficult for any manager at the moment, their confidence is shattered and it's a really challenging time because Newcastle need players. But when Bruce gets the players, he has to put them in the right positions because for me tonight, playing Joelinton on the left, didn't work. As I said before it even kicked off - no wingers, no midfielders. But most of all, we lack basic motivation, fitness and team ethics.
If Newcastle don’t score tonight (which looks incredibly likely), they will have gone over 13 hours without a goal from open play. That is shockingly bad, and it’s not from just missing a lot and not being able to put it in. It’s from not creating anything
No: Karen Carney Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live Steve Bruce needs players. You are only as good as your players and I feel harsh for saying that about the Newcastle players but he can only work with what he has got. Bruce has tried tonight; he has tried something different, different shapes but he needs players and investment - and he hasn't had that.
Players have tuned Bruce out haven’t they. It’s just a job they don’t really give a **** about now. They’re getting paid and relegation probably holds no fear anymore - once something feels like a foregone conclusion, and there’s a loss of your control over it (because you give up trying and your leader puts up with it), you usually end up spiralling downwards at an ever faster rate. A contract will be picked up somewhere - “**** NUFC, they put a ****e manager in charge of me and I want out” Joelinton getting played game after game just because, well, i suspect SB thoughts go something like “it was 40mill after all wasn’t it, be a bit rude to big Mike if I dropped him... and I might lose favour, so I’ll pretend I can see something that nobody else in the universe bar me & Mikey can see - and I’ll keep him in the shop window and hope that someone more stupid than us will be fooled into thinking he must be performing” - which means that no other ****er at NUFC is brave enough to point out the obvious. A foundation stone of a failing organisation. Steve Bruce, I mean ****ing hell, why does he not possess enough self awareness or self respect to just walk? It’s because he does not understand his own limitations and he knows he’s landed a gig he’ll never see the like of again - he’s got to go, be escorted out; but does Ashley have the brains to do it now, or wait until it’s irrecoverable The media support of Bruce - solely down to their understanding that a manager of that lack of calibre keeps NUFC where they belong; fodder for the bigger boys, ok if we snatch bare minimum points, but a Bruce helps maintain the status quo it’s all so ****ing vomit inducing. I hate this era. But it will pass.
