If the Brady one is considered to be red, yes. Because you can review a red.

Had the Brady one been considered to be a yellow, they wouldn't have gone back to the Shaw incident. And Utd would have had a chance to score!

And FINALLY! A PL referee who gives a yellow card as part of a VAR review (of something else). You are allowed to do it!

An incident like that was always going to take time. But they made the right call which is the main thing.

Shocker from the ref to not give foul against Shaw in open play tbh.

That took far too long as well. Must have been 3 minutes plus.

Why was it? First replay was clear Shaw committed a foul, the rest is irrelevant. Job done.

That's not a foul for me. Soft.

They also had to determine whether Shaw had committed a red card offence.

Harsh to rule that out imo. Can understand VAR not overturning but they're unlucky there imo.

Which shouldn't need to take over 3 minutes. They spent about 90 seconds before asking the ref to look ffs!

If VAR existed to review everything, I would agree with you.

But because VAR only exists for the four particular reasons, they were slightly limited by what they could do with the Shaw incident. By which I mean, they could only go back to it if either they felt it was a clear and obvious mistake to not send Shaw off, or a clear and obvious mistake to not send Brady off (in which case the build up to the red card, including the Shaw tackle, then gets looked at in turn).

Still took too long for my liking, the Brady one hardly needed lots of views either. 30 seconds max.

My suspicion is the ref knew he'd made a mistake which is why he didn't show him a red.

No it’s not for me. I want them to use technology but not to give long delays. It’s not about getting a perfect game but about removing glaringly obvious errors, in my opinion.

Why not edit your hashtag to anyone but Liverpool and Manchester United?

By the way, did anyone put a bet on Manchester United winning the League after their 6-1 drubbing by Spurs? The odds then, would have been very good. It has shades of "You don't win anything with kids, you don't win the title after such a mauling."

Yep. I really don't get this 'right decision at all cost' mentality. A three minute wait will never be acceptable in my view whatever the decision is.

Still think Man City will win it this year, by far the best outcome from the teams who could win it (that doesn’t include Saints before someone says anything)
