Loving the fact that the Marine ground has a stand in the form of several people's back gardens <laugh>
There is a number 9 on the fence in the ground, it’s the house number in case the ball goes over the fence
Just brilliant!!!!

Only wiki but hey ho
Robertson started the 2017–18 season as understudy to Alberto Moreno, but got a run of games when the Spaniard was injured in December.

Moreno cost 12 million

robbo was in the last year of his contrac clucas had a few years on his is why we got more
it’s immaterial anyway as it wouldn’t have gone on strengthening the team.

Moreno’s career at Liverpool was littered with errors. He only managed 90 league games in 5 years - 18 in the last 2 seasons. All from Wiki

Robbo went there very much as competition for Moreno. He barely played for the first half the season and I remember reading reports at the time about him going on loan. Then he got his chance in that December or whenever and never looked backed. It was a cheap punt for Liverpool, similar to Shaquiri, Solanke etc where they knew even if it didn't work out, they'd still sell him for a profit as for some weird reason clubs are happy to pay more for a backup from a top side

If that were true, then he'd have signed already.

If that's the case, why do we keep hearing that financial side is agreed, it's just the length that's the problem.... KLP representative wants the larger wages on a shorter deal, the club want the larger wages on a longer deal.

Take out the way this has been publicly handled (which we all agree is awful) and all the club are doing is exactly what people have been asking them to do for ages, which is get good prospects on longer deals as the have with many others this season.

So why prevent KLP from starting matches? That’s only going to piss everyone off, no? I can’t see what will or could be achieved.

Not a clue and as I've said multiple times, the way it's been handled is typical ehab and ****, but as far as the actual contract goes and what the club are asking for, it's more than reasonable and exactly what everyone has been asking them to do for ages. The other younger prospects have all signed improved longer deals, KLP representative just wants him out the door asap to make more money. He's trying to create a move in the Jan window but so far it's falling on deaf ears.

Ehaw and one plan say he's going nowhere according to the dull daily. So I
wonder how much we get when he's sold this window.

'At the club’s request, Lewis-Potter agreed to remove a significant financial clause in his deal in a bid to get the deal done, but it’s understood Allam is insistent on the extra year being accepted or there is no deal'.

The financial side is only agreed because he agreed to scrap the wage clause this season, the deal is worse than the one he has already, that's why he won't extend it.

But by excluding him from the team, is not Ehab also forcing him out of the door in January?

It’s a bit weird to discuss how good our centre forwards are at holding play up etc.etc., Its the job of the centre forwards to get the better of centre halves and score goals. They aren’t doing that with any regularity. Not only that easy, easy chances are being spurned on a regular basis. How can that continue ? We need a goal scorer in that position not a back to goal player. How many wingers have we got to play the ball to the front man. How many times do they score with headers. We need goals from our CF. If a dog barks it’s a dog.

I highly disagree with that.

The modern job of a CF - particularly in a 4-3-3 is to help bring the wingers into play. Yes it helps if they are scoring, but you also need to judge them on their link up play as you need to bring other players in to be an attacking force, they can't do it on their own.

I don't think Eaves is having his greatest season, but some of the link up play he did before he went off was nice. I believe he's better at this than Magennis, so was a bit disappointed when he went off.

Yes we could do better, but they cost money.

The new contract is a better financial package then his current one even when you include his wage increase due when starting his next game ( if that ever happens ). The club want some extra time on his deal to go with the better finical package, KLPs representative wants the new finical package but on the lesser contract length. We haven't offered him less money to stay longer!

All the other contracts for our young prospects this season have been singed without any major hiccup, but I suppose they didn't have representatives who could see easy money by trying to force a quick move.
