@JHunterChron
Lee Johnson: We are very close to one signing - the i's are dotted but the t's aren't crossed.
Wouldn't name him, but says it's a midfielder.

That'll be Carl Winchester from Forest Green. [HASHTAG]#safc[/HASHTAG]

@JHunterChron
Johnson also says [HASHTAG]#safc[/HASHTAG] are hopeful of making two or three signings in the January window

@JHunterChron
Lee Johnson: It's good news. It's the best case scenario on Will Grigg, the surgeon says the striker needs three weeks' rest - not the surgery and possible nine months that had been feared. [HASHTAG]#safc[/HASHTAG]
It's good news?

Hopefully he takes this opportunity to work himself out both mentally and physically

This is not a bad read. I think it shows how far the club was cut back

"You have to remember that even when you move players out, it doesn't necessarily free up salary cap headroom," said Johnson. "The rules are quite complex and we have had to get a lot of clarification around it, because certain scenarios that we have tried to create in our mind's eye have not been possible."

Maybe the case that paying off contracts isn't an option because of complexities in the rules?

I hope that when he talks about waiting until the last minute in the window to get affordable players in he's not taking Dreyfus into account because if we're picking up fourth choice targets due to a lack of finance, with him in charge, we'll only be moving sideways.

If Winchester is an 8 it is a good sign Johnson has spotted a problem in our team. We struggle to link the deeper players to the attacking 3 regularly. A technically good 8 who can get box to box will make a difference to the overall team quality in my view.

Fully agree. We atill need to make improvementa up top but we needed a better, different midfielder in the team.

Lets hope gets off to a flyer with both barrels

Bowyer - asked if Maddison is seriously injured:

"I don't know. I don't care. You've got a player who is jumping out of tackles and then he says he got a knock before that.
If you do that again, you're done."

Shocking comments from Bowyer there, imagine saying that you don't give a **** if one of your players is injured or not. I don't think I've heard a manager say that before and doubt that I ever will again.

Godawful man management. Off the scale bad.

Carlisle forum. It’s only because he’s injured someone’s obviously presumed he was on his way out. I know for a fact there’s nothing in it atm.
This rumour is not going away, Mellish is being wrapped in cotton wool because he's coming here this week, 125k rising to 250k depending on appearances and promotion...
