Margaret Ferrier admitted travelling back from London to Glasgow after testing positive for coronavirus
Scottish MP Margaret Ferrier has been arrested by police after she admitted using public transport while infected with Covid-19.
Ms Ferrier apologised for what she called a "blip" in September.
She was suspended from the SNP group at Westminster, and leaders including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon urged her to quit as an MP over the row.

Leave.EU should really re-brand or people might start to think it’s just a rabble of far right sex cases rather than a genuine single-issue pressure group.
Come on own up

Yet every day social media is packed full of racist, xenophobic, sexist, homophobic abuse posted all over the place and hurled at individuals including one of our own players, and some people are more concerned about a genuinely vile word being removed when played on radio one, pretending as if that word being removed ruined the song!
Maybe if we cracked down on the abuse that people get for circumstances of birth people wouldn't be looking to eradicate what could be influences that drive that behaviour?

Didn't hear that about the song. Racist, anti semitic abuse, and anything espousing violence, peadophelia etc is rightly against the law. Period.
But it seems to me everything else is up for discussion. Even if it's stupid, narrow minded and offends people. The Cancel Culture wants to ban the discussion. That's what's dangerous. You start moving into 1984 territory
What's this week's word of the week
TBH honest Will where does it stop? Once the word 'gay' meant something else. The 'N' is completely different. Does this mean in the future if the word 'Love' becomes this months orange and people find it offensive, we should ban it? We need to get a grip. Sadly people want to try and change history for their 'wokie' beliefs. The Fairytale of New York removing the word ***got? So many people lost their **** over it, personally I don't see what the problem was with removing it, it's a highly offensive and derogatory term, they wouldn't allow the n word to be broadcasted, this should be no different
The Fairytale of New York removing the word ***got? So many people lost their **** over it, personally I don't see what the problem was with removing it, it's a highly offensive and derogatory term, they wouldn't allow the n word to be broadcasted, this should be no different. The point is that pretty much nothing is being being done, I've reported several comments on facebook, one where someone called another poster on a public page (national media) an arse bandit and a bumboy (the person was hetrosexual, not that it matters) and apparently that doesn't go against their standards yet a friend was banned for 'bullying' for 30 days calling someone ****ing pathetic....
If the laws were working why are there constant examples, many high profile, of the abuse you are describing? The simple truth is they aren't working and the level of abuse only seems to be getting worse. I agree that other things should be up for discussion however most of the stuff that is supposedly being cancelled.. isn't such as the outrage at the Proms, or is just some random no mark on the internets view, that's been picked up on blown up and associated with groups or labels such as lefties or liberals, when it is nothing more than one individuals view.
Last point being is that racism and bigotry can be extremely thinly veiled and it's easy to get away with pushing a bigoted agenda, as long as someone doesn't state something directly. An example I see an awful lot, again facebook, where certain people will always comment on my local rags crime reports when the criminal is either non white or has a, as they would put it, 'foreign sounding name' yet remain silent on the vast majority of crime reports which are committed by whites and have traditionally British names, is it bigoted to consistently call for the death penalty to be brought back, people to be deported or refer to them as scum or animals... but only when the criminal fits a profile? I also notice when a child goes missing it's all sympathy when it fits the white child with a traditionally English name yet if it's a black child every time there will be comments suggesting it probably relates to county lines drugs gangs.
All seems to go hand in hand with pulling down statues. It's this months 'in thing'. These acts cause more problems. The n word is far stronger than ***got imo. I'd have kept the original song in tact. I've heard it hundreds of times and never consciously made the connection between ***got and gay.
I'd say using words like arse bandit is pretty pathetic but shouldn't be banned unless it's used in a threatening way. I'd distinguish it from racist abuse. Similarly, if a person doesn't buy into the trans issue and believes men are men, and women are women, they should be allowed to express that - and those of us who disagree can put our case.
You can't ban or prosecute someone for saying that if a black teenager goes missing, it might have something to do with county lines drugs gangs - because it might. But you can point out their assumptions look prejudiced without more evidence. The idea that no one can suggest it in case it is racist, is simply restricting freedom of speech and expression. Show people like that up, don't gag them, because it enrages people and ultimately is counter productive
