With the salary restrictions this is the way forward, we need players to get us out of here and be able to move on afterwards.

Johnson has worked with the player before so knows his attitude.

IMO that's the most important aspect as Grigg and Graham have conclusively proved.

He's been captain at his last two clubs so obviously respected by his team mates.

(Naturally this signing has been ridiculed on RTG.)

Don’t know anything about the lad but in the absence of anything else I’ll trust in the club’s judgment that he is better than what we have....which isn’t difficult I know.

Yes this sort of signing is going to be lambasted from certain sections, agree totally here, i said on another thread we will /may need to do thongs at the start that might be a little ugly so to speak to get us out of here.

The cry from certain sections, which will be clear stupidity will be its does fit with what we have been told regarding youth & KLDs vision statement....of course it wont, thats going to be a journey which will take minimum a couple of years to start to see product produced...until then we must make signings the same as everyone else...but the must be 'the right' signings. we have a number of wasted wages in the squad, journeyman here to see career out, am sure we are now targeting, might be unheard of to most, but the right driven players to get us up. THATS job number one the build from there...its going to take a bit time

Players Johnson and Speakman know will help for the short term, however unfashionable they may be.

Once more staff are in place we can look at the medium and long term.

The focus has to be who can get us out of this league in the next 5 months, however that is achieved.

As Johnson has been here 5 minutes, going to players he knows, makes sense for where we are, and what we need to achieve.

Personally, would like to see Graham's and Matthews contracts torn up to free up at a guess 10k a week to help achieve the signings Johnson wants. Dobson can go too, and shame Grigg is injured as he could have left this month.

Agree with almost all of your post mate but I am willing to give Dobbo a bit more time. He may or may not get a chance with LJ but he is still young enough to take either Leds or Powers place imo. With a run of games and building up understandings with his team mates he could become a decent squad player.

Jeff Stelling said yesterday that we were playing our 100th game in this division and we still haven't come to terms with winning games on a regular basis ( not quite quoting him but that was the gist) and in all honesty I can't disagree with him.
Hope LJ can put this right asap.

Didn't we buy both Power and Dobson from their respective club's as they were both Captains, so there is no guarantee this new lad will be any more successful if he comes, obviously hope that's not the case.

Main reason I threw Dobson in the mix to leave, is that Winchester and Mellish are both midfielders, so can see his playing time still limited or more limited.

Nixon saying we are in for Evans but Preston favourites. He comes with baggage but he’s better than all our existing strikers IMO

I thought he was going to Fylde FC. Seems better than that and maybe I just read a snippet without delving into all the info.

Carlisle forum. It’s only because he’s injured someone’s obviously presumed he was on his way out. I know for a fact there’s nothing in it atm.

I'd rather see us go for someone like Max Watters or Luke Jephcott than Evans ffs. Its not as if we can develop Evans and then him have sell on potential in the future is it?

Agree, was sorry to see Curry missing from the bench yesterday. I believe Graham only touched the ball once when he came on?

my add blocker went berserk following that link mate so didn't bother Chod Evans is not the way to go, so i hope its just paper talk, everyone knows his name and is in the news constantly, but have yet to read a positive article about him, hence he must have a bad attitude, as he has had more clubs than Katie Price has had chipolata, so although he could do a job, the disruption he could cause far outweighs the benefits. There are lots of options out there with clubs willing to sell to keep the club afloat, a shrewd recruiting team should be able to pick out at least five better options at bargain prices in these trying times.

Totally agree. Like the look of Jephcott. Exempt from salary cap too.

....And, alarmingly, a recent stat quoted not long ago, stated that Sunderand haven't been 'top' of Leage One at any point since their demise.
