I’m just honestly perplexed at how terrible Jose’s squad management is. For a manager that’s won so much I’m genuinely shocked at how bad the squad is being managed.

Kane, Son and Hojbjerg have all been well below par in recent games because they’ve been playing 90 mins in the League, played in the Europa games and two even played 90 mins in the cup the other night.

These guys are being ran into the ground and for some reason the manager can’t see it.

If I were still a betting man and a sort of bet was available, I’d put money on one of Kane or Son getting a hammy tear sooner or later - and if that happens, kiss goodbye to any top four finish or potential trophy.

It's not just that DH. How are you by the way? Long time no banter. Thought I'd pop by so y'all can gaze at Poch's beautiful face again.

Anyway it isn't just that (although I do fully agree with your point). Our style of football is EXHAUSTING. Anyone with Sunday league experience or up knows that when you're in possession, the ball does the running. When you're not, you do the running. Simples.

Add to that the absurd levels of concentration and focus our style requires every one of our players to have. From the defenders praying they don't suffer a lapse to the attackers praying they convert one of the pittance of chances they get per game, the pressure is is immense. It is mentally very, very taxing and the regulars are clearly looking drained as a result.

Add to that the growing probability that many of our players just don't buy into the system like they did a few months ago. That exhaustion is forgivable when at least the results are going your way, but when they're not - especially due to so many late, late goals, the feeling of deflation and disillusionment can be overwhelming. It was telling that there were multiple moments in this game where some of our more vocal players (usually Dier and Davies) were screaming at others (usually Son and Hojbjerg) to close down space but the latter were just like 'what's the fecking point? It's just coming straight back at us anyway.'

Not here to gloat, not here to say "I told you so". Just here to reiterate what I said over a year ago now: Jose Mourinho is finished, and has been for years. Having watched the Amazon documentary, I warmed to Jose the character. But Jose the tactician? Well I think we can all see how that's going.

The joy of watching Spurs has completely gone, for me. We are lucky that there are no fans witnessing the steady demise of our football club into a Graham-esque style of football.

I stood by, laughing, while our fanbase creamed itself when we topped the league for a few weeks. Talking us up as title contenders?! <laugh> Pull the other one. Sad thing is, we could be. Utilising Aurier/Reguilon like we used Walker/Rose, allowing Tanguy a free role instead of insisting he becomes a box to box midfielder, play Gio much, much further up the pitch, pin teams back with our FBs and the pace of Son/Stevie and stop asking Kane to play 3 roles at once. It honestly isn't rocket science.

And the saddest thing is how Jose explicitly promised he would stay loyal to the club's traditions. Ha. All that took to crumble was the 3 late goals against West Ham. He did exactly the same thing at Chelsea when we tanked them 5-3. They were flying at the top of the league, but that game haunted him, until he changed their entire way of playing, pissed off key players in the process, lost the changing room, started picking scapegoats for the team's problems (at them it was that physio; ours seems to be Dele Alli), and it all unravelled from there.

There used to be a football club over there.

Oh and happy new year guys, hope you're all keeping well :emoticon-0152-heart

that is exactly what happened that season. We were playing lovely attacking football and tonking teams. Then you guys spanked us and mourinho went full defensive and we started grinding out 1-0 wins. Fortunately we managed to grind it through to the end but it was defensive football from then.

From what i heard in his post match interview Jose is getting ready to throw some players under the bus and demand new from Levi.

You get the odd result like that.

The Poool got spanked by Villa.
Have they abandoned their play of the previous two seasons ??
Of course not.

Its hard work watching us - we are playing dull lifeless football and getting dull lifeless results. Wolves deserved at least a draw because they tried to play some football that was worth watching.

Looks like we will putting all our eggs into the Carabao Cup and Europa league pots now, and even then if we can't hold a lead how are we going to win knock out cup ties against half decent opposition.

A couple of things that come out of todays match. Ben Davies is a very good defender so much better than Sanchez, shame it was Bens man who scored their goal because up to that moment he was excellent. Why is Tanguy Ndombele still so unfit, our best player today no question but if he cant ever play 90 minutes does he have a future in this league?

2 winnable home games coming up I hope that Jose uses the squad properly and plays to win! But I have my doubts

Pissed off from Ashford!!

A little bird has told me that Tanguy can infact play 90mins. This has been the case for a few weeks now.
Players with immense natural talent seem to get the Mourinho treatment.

Here he is, knew you couldn't stay away forever, lol.

I'm good mate, indulging in some snowballs and remaining festive. How you been?

I thought the style of football for spells was really good, probably up until Palace where it was becoming obvious we were running key players into the ground and by doing that you're asking for trouble. The style of football also changed from effective and efficient countering to just simply parking the bus and then our results started taking a turn for the worse to go along with it. With Kane, Son and Hojbjerg operating at about 60% too it's also meaning we can't rely on our best players to bail us out or protect us.

It's become a real mess which for me is a shame as I was someone fully behind Jose's appointment (even if I did want Allegri) and I've enjoyed a lot of his press antics/ social media stuff too but right now he's serving up some absolute **** and the reality is, whether you were neutral, anti or pro Jose coming in, this sort of football coupled by poor results will only end one way. I am still behind him for what it's worth but more of this **** and it'll be hard to continue doing so. As I said earlier and many times since towards the end of Poch's reign - I'm happy to sacrifice style for substance but I won't stand by and watch sacrificing style for nonsense with no substance - and the latter is what we're seeing.

In the grand scheme of things, a point away at Wolves is a decent result, it is one of the hardest away games. But the football has been dire, and trying to defend a slender lead for 90 minutes with the error prone defenders we have, will end in failure more often than not, so why not play to our strengths, which is attacking. Kane, Son, Hojberg and Dier are being flogged into the ground, and their performances will suffer. Why did we bring in another CF to give Kane a rest from time to time, and then never use him, and why do we go a goal up in games and then immediately stop playing. Mourinho is mis managing his squad, scape goating good players, playing dull negative football and not playing to his squads strengths, so he needs to sort this out and soon.

I guess the big question is: what silverware will it take to convince Kane and Son to stick it out for yet another season? The FAC or Carabao won't cut it imo. Unless they're combined with a top 4 finish which I can't see happening as we'll still be battling for the Europa at the same time and don't have the squad for 4 competitions. And top 4 itself this season looks like it could be the death of most clubs. The strength of the opposition is insane.

Anything less than top 4 + a trophy and they're out, as far as I can see it. And to achieve that we're going to have to spend big in Jan on a new CB and upgrade on Sissoko and hope both new players settle in instantly.

fortunately for you guys, you have Son and Kane tied up on long term contracts so even if they did want out, Levy wouldn't just let them walk out like that.

Mourinho's post-match press conference...what can I tell you...

...a load more bullshit.

"Defending deep, that's not the intention. They know what I asked them at half-time, if they couldn't do better it's because they couldn't do better."

"We are frustrated with the result. We had control of the game, but we had 89 minutes to score more goals and we didn't.

"It was not just about not scoring goals, it was also about not being dangerous and not being ambitious. For me, that's the problem."

FFS...Are you Jose Mourinho or his great aunt?

That's what i said earlier, preparing to throw players under the bus and demand new <ok> :emoticon-0100-smile

orite mate...hope all is well

for me...I’m happy to back anything to get us silverware...personally I was a bit sick and tired of the tippy tappy 80% possession and no end game year after year.

give the bloke a full season at least then hopefully you can have the tippy tappy back...let’s hope in the meantime we learn to win silverware under the current regime to take forward as a club.

That’s how I feel, I’ll tolerate **** football if it ends in a trophy but Spurs won’t be winning any trophies if they don’t stop this bad habit of conceding late goals

Oh come on, you are 1 game away from the "season killer" cup final. Surely you can hang on for 80 mins against Brentford then the final can go anyway <whistle>

What a load of rubbish, the end of his reign won’t be far off if he genuinely believes that crap he has said.

Ngl that has pissed me off.

Yeah this in particular is utter bollocks.

We played a formation with five defenders, a defensive midfielder, a midfielder who has a panic attack when trying to pass forward and then a creative mid, a wing forward and a striker. Three attacking players, eight defensive. The creative mid was also subbed off for a combative/ industrious mid and we didn’t have our second striker on the bench to call upon because he felt best to have three CBs there when we already had five defenders starting.

He’s done himself no favours spouting **** like that after the selection and formation he put out.
