Well we’ve had our trees what about the old Xmas dinner or just food in general. My gammon cooled down and sliced. Tastes bloody lovely.
I used to dislike seeing Xmas but then I found out that the use of the greek letter chi to denote Christ goes back further into antiquity than does our celebration of Christmas so it doesn't bother me now.
I don't like it mate. We're not ancient Greeks and people don't write Xmas in honour of an old language and culture ... ... it's cos they're lazy fuxxers.
Funny because it's true I was stuffed today, half way through my meal, but finished it because of my Mam who's long gone. "Clear yer bliddy plate before you leave the table!"
Well, we quite often pray Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison during mass and Xp (Chi-rho) appears on the stole worn by many priests so you can't decry the use of greek. Mind, I appreciate that nearly everyone who writes Xmas is just being lazy, it is just that I don't get upset at it any more - seems more appropriate to the meaning of Christmas.
I'm not upset mate, it was a reference to something on another thread. People can call Christmas whatever they like ... ... although anyone saying Crimbo should be executed without trial imo.
Nice beef joint cooked today in the slow cooker. Turkey and Gammon going on tomorrow. Going to do the Gammon in the slow cooker in cola and then a nice maple syrup and mustard glaze finished in the oven. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/slow-cooker-gammon/amp
