Just to confirm I've never said a word about Boris Johnson today or tried to excuse him from anything, at all.

Some people are super obsessed with him, though.

A crisis should never be a tit for tat red v blue affair, I'm not affiliated to any party so don't have this automatic defence response. I'd be appalled at any government claiming these lorry parks had been planned over many months only to see the Salvation Army arrive with basic necessities.

I had a little transport company, called RediToGo, and know how brutal Dover-Calais is at the best of times. Me and Mrs Smug used it as free travel from Nice to Nottingham and back. People may believe modern trucks have water beds, Sky TV and hot tubs but many, like ours, have nothing but a radio.

To sit in a transit van for 3 days and nights would be an absolute nightmare.

Frome town football club where due to play Maidstone in the fa trophy, they approached the fa about travelling into a tier 4 area and their concerns and the fa's response was they have to play.

Despite the Covid testing being non existant at Frome Town's level.

Frome have withdrawn from the fixture and are awaiting confirmation that they have been kicked out of the FA Trophy

6,000 trucks now stranded at Dover and many drivers will be sitting alone in their cabs over Christmas ...

... how will the government help these people.

Just had this from my UK insurance company regarding visiting Europe ...

From 1st January 2021, you will need:
    • A Green Card.
    • Your Certificate of Motor Insurance.
    • The logbook (V5C) for the vehicle.
    • An International Driving Permit (IDP), whether you’re hiring a car or driving your own.
This is just the start <doh>

If all these are stranded on our side and I have seen no film anywhere of them stranded on the French side why are the supermarkets scaring people with food shortages you would think it should be the french people who should be worrying?

    There will be food shortages.

Trucks from Europe, carrying goods, won't risk going to the UK and getting stuck ...

... they'll just sell their produce cheaper on the continent.

    The UK will really suffer.

This is what we voted for so it simply needs to be done . . . . hopefully it'll be a short term pain for long term gain :emoticon-0148-yes:

At least after Cameron ****ed off and May deliberately dithered, we've now got a P.M. who will do what the U.K. voted for :emoticon-0105-wink:
