What would have happened in this country if the French Health Minister had announced there was a new Covid variant running amok in France and that the virus was 'out of control' there? Would there have been people clamouring for our border with France to be closed, I wonder?

You mean just like when this pandemic started?
 
There will always be some who will try to defend this stunt by Macron but that is to be expected. It will always come from the same voices.
However.
We have a lot a lorry drivers without food and toilets stranded in our country and need to support them. How hard is it to drop off a few toilets and send in a couple of hot food vans?
funny whenever there are demonstrations Or concerts they manage to supple them?

anyway forget who is right or wrong... listen to the drivers wanting to get home to their families.

Firstly there is nothing wrong with being proud of your country. Secondly what makes you proud of your country?
Finally we are talking Covid and the lorry drivers stranded. Watford will just mock anything people will say so I am just returning in kind.

I mock jingoism because it’s ridiculous in 2020 when we all have access to so much more information. I know you aren’t that thick and it’s a bit of an act though.

You could still answer his question, however.

Given that 90% of the truckers are foreign nationals, maybe their own countries should be assisting?

Remember when UK citizens were stuck abroad earlier in the year it was the UK government that had to shell out to help get them home (eventually)

Just a thought.....

I heard one say that he had to crap in a backstreet because they had no access to toilets. Our government has said we have hotels for the ones that test positive. How about letting the drivers go to these hotels tonight for a hot meal shower and a bed?
 
Proud to be English/British. Not really sure to be honest. The illegal Blair war certainly didnt make me proud. The corruption and lies we hear daily certainly dont. Then I see examples of kindness and selfishness like when people and companies rallied to feed hungry children during the school holidays.
