For me it smells of the old regime kind of protected Parkinson and the new have said shute with that the truth needs to come out so we can move on
Parky's treatment of McGeady was one of the few things he got right imo and I hope the likes of O'Nien aren't pissed off about him being a spokesman for the club. Johnson put him straight back in the team without knowing much about what had gone on I'd imagine, but he seems like a clever bloke and chances are he's cleared the air behind the scenes. Like I say I agree with what Parky did but it wasn't the only option he had. Different circumstances now too.
I slated mcgeady and didn't want him back, there was the accusation he was giving it the Billy big bollocks and was a bully. What I can't understand is parky making these accusations if untrue (which it seems like now) The other players would of thought "wtf" ? I said in another thread a few days ago I'll take back what I said about him but it's very odd Parkinson freezing him out like that. One thing really sticks out he said and I've always had the same thought is we should be an attacking team, so I'm glad the way things have turned out .
To be fair the bullying stuff was rumours but I put on a thread a few weeks ago that I was told it wasn't bullying it was McGeady telling the truth about how bad things were and saying with the quality we have we should be doing alot better. Parky didn't like that saw him as too much of a negative despite him being right. One thing that was clear was him and Onien didn't get on because of polar opposite attitudes. A few weeks ago Power and Leadbitter went to Parky and told him they thought McGeady should be back and that seems to marry up with what Geads said on the podcast that out of the blue Parky wanted him around again but still seemed to be keeping him at arms length
Also to be fair that stuff you heard about him is also rumours and just putting a different spin on the fact that Parky sacked him off.
True but I'm inclined believe that side of the story on the whole because of the lack of players offering their support to Parky following his sacking
I think they were glad to see the back of him, must have been grim. His grey jumpers were the most fun thing about him.
Wasn't there something going round about that time saying that Parky had an argument with them both? And wasn't Leadbitter "rested" for a few games afterwards?
It will become self evident who was the problem, when the on field team support him, and he plays his part as he has so far. He surprised me how fit he was, and that's a mark of his professionalism, not sure the interview was in the clubs best interest tbh.
I know this is only from Mcgeady's side of the story, but it's seems as though Parkinson is even a worse manager than what we all thought he was, terrible man management at the very least. Having a fit and motivated Mcgeady in the team last season might have made all the difference in going up with the PPG system.
Parkinson randomly used to leave Scowen out of the team aswell last season, and then decided he liked him this season. He could also have made a difference.
