that's to simple 1FOR you have to try and start mixing it up so it looks like you know what you saying …. NO hang on got that wrong you have to mix it up so it looks like you DONT know what you are saying is correct!
How different? Very different. Most businesses do not run like FC’s where they operate past income for decades losing money season upon season. Yes simples. Very simple BCFC had to sell players as it would exceed its financial fair play threshold. Because Mr Johnson said he was thoroughly involved in signing players. You may (may) believe he was lying about having the final say and how involved he was in the process and how he should be judged after his windows I will not
Ah I see what you attempted there .. But as Lee Johnson stated he was in charge of talent Id, he gets the final say on what the targets were and if they join at all it’s reasonable to believe what he has stated occurred.
I can't be bothered to dig it out but he did say he was consulted by MA and had input on all signings.
NOPE business model is no different, annual return has to be made to HMRC, other than the fact my assets were primarily NOT HUMAN ones it all works the same. The accounting period for every business is different, the accounting period for HMRC is the same, not going to tell you how or why because you ought to know as you are "telling us your version" …… ! I buy an asset costs me more than I have to pay for it that year, as an asset it is part of my accounting, so HMRC has rules to help ...you obviously must know how they work? …! the one thing that has to be paid irrespective is the "***" account [ you can fill in the detail of that! ] My asset may take me 5 or more years to pay off? So I am technically in a position, just like a football club in debt until paid off …..[ buy in and sell off is how business works] You obviously know how FFP works and WHY it was brought in … so no need to explain that! ONE THING I MAY ADD... is a company can sell off assets, or add to its coffers by making a profit from its services or product …. football is NO different [ humans are an asset ] … accounting is no different …. FFP well you know all about that ..
Targets/positions requested. Of what was available/offered to him at the time. A budget would have been set for players within that budget available or looking to progress. Over inflated prices in the UK resulting in scouts looking abroad, usually the lower tier of France for better value to the club prime examples Kodja & Diedhiou from French club Angers SCO. Now the fact that Cotts was in charge when Kodja was signed says to me that LJ was unlikely to be fully in charge of where the players came from, never mind the exact players he wanted to sign. Usually the best in his opinion, from an average bunch available..
Yep, I agree, he would have had input on signings.........but only to players offered to him at the time. He wouldn't have scouted or set the budget. He would have had a say to the circle of players on offer by MA & Co.
He wasn't only offered players , he was financed to travel to Germany, France, Portugal to asses methods, training and players and don't please tell me he did not have input on the scouting network recommendations, you always advocate he was a leader in his management style, why would he accept a player he thought was not up to his expressed standards. There were signings made by him and they cost the club money.
Yes he would have made recommendations but the board would have had the final say. May have cost the club money, but was beneficial to the club of £38.2 million players profit come May 2019.. Maybe depriving the club of progression!!
Football is different. Normal businesses would collapse if ran in a similar manner. Most football clubs make nothing. They habitually lose money because hearts rule minds. Bristol City is ran as a loss making company and has been for decades. Lansdown Hargreaves is different to BCFC.
Lots of companies, many large..... purposely are renowned for making a loss, avoids paying tax especially with such low interest rates!! Bristol City are no different.
To Lansdown Hargreaves. Weird. Getting away from the hundreds of millions it makes Mr Lansdown I will have to pay more attention as I have missed the thousands of fans outside it on its matchdays ..
thats just unfair i was asked to back up my posts!! if you cant prove he went to France Germany Portugal and 1luvlee will want to see the plane tickets as proof he never went anywhere. You are right but that will still make you wrong until you produce those tickets you will have to unsee what you have seen.
he was head coach never manager there is a big difference … you cannot expect to get 100% all of the time … buy a packet of seeds and not all of them succeed …..
No particular interest in Junior Johnson like you guys, but comparing player acquisition to buying a packet of seeds in general is quite frankly rubbish JGF. You can't exercise judgement over a seed packet in a garden centre - you're buying blind. With some of your player acquisitions, he must have been blind.
What bit do you not understand? the issues and prodcedures are the same …Football = the owners bail out the club … Green borrows heavily [ as do most "group" owners ] … the loans are the same principle … there comes a point when they cannot be serviced and go bankrupt..into receivership .. insolvent ...sold for £1 or whatever / however way you wish to address it. I will repeat in case you try to speed read and miss something... companies [ football clubs are one ] have a different date for annual accounting … the HMRC has 1, set as financial year * APRIL 20** at start of it * APRIL 20next year. HMRC allows for transfer of debt etc backwards /forwards / offset [ specific period] There is 1 TAX IS COMPULSARILY NEEDED TO BE PAID ON TIME. A company is in business to make a profit or break even, aim is MONEY [profit] per year, MONEY [loss] happens, & more than one year …. can be over 10 year / year's [ look at M&S one example ] the clue on differences is companies like retail manufacturing borrow from banks etc [ or script their shareholders ] Football clubs "borrow" from their OWNERS mostly. Have tried to keep this basically simple … as the complexities in financial management and debt management is extremely dependant on a number of factors that manifest themselves at different stages and are subject to a whole boat load of terms and agreements...………….
you should never laugh at your jokes or attempts at ! why cant you exercise judgement over a packet of seeds? football clubs are professional and so are most gardeners [ amateur proffessionals ] should you do it for a long time. we know what happens with the failures /successes of football players .. we judge them as to being what we want with potential … You buy a packet of seeds from one of the main 2 or 3 decades old producers because you have seen the success over a few years or the fact that a particular variety does well in your garden/ allotment/ or field you are the judge of that. But not every seed comes up to expectations and neither does every expected player …. in your environment... so the only bit which is rubbish is the packet …..
Who mentioned Hargreaves Lansdown? You might have, I didn't!! Seems to me you have no idea whatsoever how business works.(I've had my own for 30 years)...so we will leave it there.
he stated on a number of occasions that he had been to various places to "see for himself" problem is seeing a prospect just once is often a failure. Almost every week we get so and so is crap … get rid of … next week he is the hero MOM … the club has a budget [ often never strictly adhered to, over spent / underspent on a particular item ] it is basically a guide … Sending LJ to coaching/players is all part of getting better for the future …
