No they wouldn't. It seems to be an English trait that if someone tells us to do something we feel that it is infringing on our civil liberties and so look for any excuses not to do it.

You didn't ask me but allot of people don't deserve the liberties
this. Restrictions are only there because the people can’t be trusted to use common sense.
I think its not surprising that the countries where people are most used to government restrictions like Singapore, China and South Korea are ones who have come out of this pandemic fairly well.
I think the right to not wear a mask in public is not really one worth making a fuss about.
It is a combination of a clueless government and selfish/clueless people.
I see people (I'm out working by the way) hanging around in groups, teenagers still sitting together in parks for example, what the devil are the parents doing letting them out?
The governments muddied messages don't help. You COULD see 3 families on christmas day inside a home but couldn't go for a walk with less people on the same day as that is against the rules.
It is appauling though that people carry on like nothing is going on. Pubs doing a takeaway service, people are buying their drinks and then huddling on the street outside the pub door.... well done bell ends.
We shouldn't need the government to tell us what the right thing to do is. Even when the rules allowed us to go and see other families at christmas I resigned myself to not doing so this year because it was the right thing to do. The people now whinging that they can't spen christmas with their family having been told they could; take some responsibilty yourself and think is it a good idea just because you are "allowed".
The government are far from absolved of any of this though. It's not me being a whining snow flake that needs to be spoon fed, I've decided what was the right thing to do from the start and, aside from going to work, have avoided all possible risks,
The government however allowed this virus to rip through the population when they shut down too late, reopened too early, opened the schools. The biggest problem is the reluctance to just shut the country down when the virus was coming. Anyone who says any government would struggle is wrong, New zealand absoultely smashed it. Yes their population is far smaller but as soon as they quarantined/stopped people coming into the country they practically stopped the virus. When it did slip through the net they had a full lock down to eradicate it. We could have done both of those things but decided to keep the ports open and flip flop between lock downs. It wouldn't have mattered how selfish people are if the virus had been stopped right at the start.
You could almost stomach, if you were they way inclined, having the worst death rate if you had the least affected economy OR having the worst economy and the lowest death rate. A clear goal either way, you may not have liked the decision but you could see what the plan was. We've ended up with the worst of both.
People are selfish, the government clueless, what a winnign combination that is.

The government should scrap lockdowns and issue an immediate cull on c*nts who don't behave in an appropriate manner to protect society from a very dangerous situation.
Maybe not for some people, and where does it stop.
Have you seen the video of the 2 year old girl and her family being ejected off a airplane because they could not get her to wear one JT.

I don’t think the government are clueless but they are torn between following the science and trying to be popular.
It didnt help when even the WHO starts off saying mask wearing will not make much difference and then changing their advice to they should be compulsory.
That’s just some over zealous official getting carried away with his powers. Weird thing is there are no kids here who cant wear them or people who feel they need an exemption. They have police doing spot check here and if you are caught out without one you have to do 10 press-ups.
People were asked to follow rules for the greater good. They ignored them and made it about their individual rights ahead of others. It is only right that the Government now infringes those rights because clearly the same people are a danger to others.
The problem is that there is no legal punishment to tackle the problem. If you wilfully ignore a public health rule put in place to protect others you should face severe criminal sanctions. It is that simple.

politicians have indeed made mistakes. Labour would too, as would the Lib Dem’s. The reason... all of this is new and there isn’t a manual on how to act. There isn’t any modern history to look at as to how to get out of this.
as for trust.. a lot of the guidance and policies and indeed policy changes seen recently are driven by the experts.. the scientists... the ones who spend their lives studying virology and human behaviour. So yes I trust them... as our approach to most of the pandemic is informed by them.
agree totally. Plus.. those snowflakes are willfully risking their elders lives. I wonder how many teenagers have lived with regret for having giving granny Covid and then she dies. Lots I suspect. But many will blame the government I’m sure... again.
