Yeah, I thought the instruction to keep Theo wide, and play Tella up top was the only misstep.

As I mentioned above and in Match thread, I’m not sure it’s best for Theo the way we play. If he gets the ball with his back to goal, he usually gets knocked off it and loses it (whether up top or deeper) but playing deeper he gets the ball less with his back to goal.

let’s see what Ralph does and how it works.

Same. I understand that Tella's a long-term striker in a lot of eyes, but he seemed to get caught in two minds a lot of the time between coming to the ball and timing runs behind the defense. His deliveries though were really good: simplify his role a little by letting him operate in space, and let the more experienced players handle the complexities of interplay between the two strikers.

I agree with that bit about Tella for sure. Taking into account what I said about Theo, it shows how difficult it is for Ralph to get the decisions correct.

What about N’Lundulu? Looks big enough to hold it up but not seen him in the pitch long enough to see if he does

He feels a bit all arms and legs at the moment. Lot of development there.

My feeling is that you use Theo as a poachy runner with Che doing the majority of the hold-up work, because Long's the only person in the squad who does much hold-up work and I'd rather have a little more dynamism if possible.
