No no there were mistakes and unforgivable ones too
Other teams have no right whatsoever beating us or even trying
    It’s just not good enough

I hope you're aware that this was a poor choice of words.

Safety has an important role in all of our lives but particularly in those of children. Those children who don't ever feel safe in their environment most definitely need a 'safe space', which has nothing to do with them being 'delicate little flowers', quite the contrary, they are some of the strongest individuals you could ever meet.

I’m a teacher. In the context I was using it, it had nothing to do with children whatsoever.

It’s a term associated with adults who get upset about little things that they probably shouldn’t. Usually pointed at a particular area of the political spectrum, the irony being I’m in that area myself.

Apologies if I caused any offence.

I'm a Blackpool fan. I was just having a look through this match thread to see what you guys thought of the game. Then I came across one of the most deluded posts I've ever seen.

Do you honestly believe that Hull are the biggest club in this division? Let me tell you. As an outsider and no doubt speaking for every other fan of a League One club. You are absolutely not the biggest club in this division. You have well and truly got your Hull tinted specs on there mate.

What have Hull ever achieved? What have Hull ever won? Who's your club legend? Dean Windass?

I'm sorry to tell you this but you are lucky to get into the top 6 when it comes to sizes of clubs in the division.

As for 'beating the likes of Blackpool'. Former FA Cup winners. One of only 4 English clubs to have a Ballon D'or winner in Stanley Matthews. Jimmy Armfield former England captain and world cup winner and voted the best right back in Europe. World Cup winner in Alan Ball.

You need to get your head out your arse mate. You can ask a hundred football fans who are the biggest club in League One and not one will say Hull City. Sorry to break that to you.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

We're one of the top 5 most profitable clubs of the last six years, but that's probably why we're in this position.
    Enjoy your evening too.

I would imagine most would say Sunderland, one of only 14 clubs to average over 40,000 for a season, were the biggest club in the division followed by Ipswich and Portsmouth. I would anyway.

And I would agree. I don't have any issue with Hull as a club. But I felt I had to respond to that nonsense. As an outsider my perspective of Hull City within the pyramid of the football league is way different to that of the chap I responded to. I'm sure that would be the case if you asked any neutral too.

Best wishes for the remainder of the season. Except in the reverse fixture

I could have added Charlton , they have a bigger ground andca better history and are one of the 14 clubs to have averaged 40,000 for a season and the one that catches most people out when trying to list them. And as I always take delight in adding when talking to one of their bandwagon jumping fans in East Yorkshire, that is something Leeds United have never done.

Things will improve I hope when things get back to normal and they can do my cataracts operations. I may notice things that need amending.

So just tell me, so I'm up to speed, what you having Stanley Matthews in your team decades before I was born has to do with your current team in 2020? Is it some kind of magical formula that makes you amazing? Maybe you could explain how Portsmouth's FA Cup win has helped them since?

What you described is history, of which you have more than us. You don't get to a certain level and then stay that way unless you're consistently performing, you become a smaller club if you perform worse, which is exactly what's happened to both our clubs.

We've come down from the Championship, so there's one level of expectations. We have a bigger budget than most, there's another. We have a squad that, although struggled last year, has played at a higher level. Add another level.

What you consider to be a "big club" sounds like who has the bigger history, which is fine if you're talking about overall successes, but I was not. I measure it on the present. And outside of one season in 2010-11, you haven't even been in the top flight. Since then, we've been in it three more times, reached an FA Cup final and played in Europe. That doesn't make us Manchester United all of a sudden, let's be fair, but it does mean the level of expectation on us is much higher, a reason Sunderland are constantly talked about as punching below their weight.

If you've got to stretch back to the 50s and 60s to throw your weight around, then that says more about your current status than it does about ours.

So you are talking about the present but then go on to tell me about how you have been in the prem 3 times in the last 10 years and got to an FA Cup final?

You stated you are the biggest club in the division and you should be beating the likes of Blackpool. Both statements are utter bollocks.

The difference is that the effect of being the PL recently has directly impacted this season; the money we got from coming down in 2017 was used to buy players that are still here now. You having Alan Ball and Stanley Matthews in the past doesn't impact your season in 2020 one jot.

You deserved to win the game, no question about it. But I don't consider you a big club in the division, sorry.

You'll do alright this season too, you've got a good manager and a decent crop of players. Not sure we will unless we change ours.

Why shouldn't we expect to beat the likes of Blackpool?

You've been on your arses under the Oystons for many years now, not troubling the top 2 divisions.

Sometimes I think you really don't get what makes a club bigger compared to other ones.

The Oystons have been gone for nearly 2 years now and we have an owner who is not only a lifelong supporter, but he is a rich lifetime supporter and has put his money where his mouth is. So I've no idea what the Oystons have got to do with it. Two players remain from the Oyston era.

Just ask clubs like Leeds, Sheffield Wed, Forest, Sunderland etc about the 'we should be beating the likes of so and so'. They said the same. Their attitudes changed after season after season in this division.

So you have been Oyston free for 2 years- I imagine you were not transformed overnight into a healthy winning club.

I expect us to beat most teams this season, cos we have a stronger deeper squad and therefore better equipped for a long haul over 46 games .

Don't even mention us in the same breath as those 'massive clubs'- the fact that we are a soft touch is down to (lack of) character of our players, nowt to do with arrogance or complacency.

They just don't want it enough or are too soft- take your pick.
