I rarely lose my temper, but Lloyds Telephone banking can fock off.... Have to give some of my "memorable information" to the robot using the phonetic alphabet "Please give us the first number in your memorable information" "KILO" "Was that G for Golf?" "No, KILO, KEEEELO" "Please confirm by saying yes or no" "NO" "I'm sorry. Was that Zero?" "KILO, KILO, KEEEEELO" "Please confirm by saying yes or no" "NOOOO!" "I having trouble understanding you, please..." "NO ****!" Now I have to wait for the human advisor Robotic advisor can do one
As a self confessed technophobe who likes to use the old fashioned bank with real people and real cash, I find it mildly amusing when those who jump into technology like online and telephone banking and then get pissed of when there are no people to help them sort any problems. You brought it on yourself. Not saying this is your case here but just in general.
Of course you can always stand for 30 minutes plus outside TSB in Hessle with no automatic banking 'hole in the wall' for business transactions despite closing down the branches in Brough and Willerby, increasing the number of clients needing to use one branch which has 3 tills and one closed for obvious reasons.
I'm talking to a human advisor now, good times. She put me on hold tho. Realized how much I struggle with the word "recipient" Impossible to pronounce Reezeepunt?
I resisted online banking for years (personally that is, my business banking has to be online), then I gave in and downloaded the app and I can't believe it's taken me so long, it's far better than having to go to banks or actually deal with anyone.
The great thing about Lloyds is, that if you get a cheque you can just photo it on your phone and its banked..... hopefully the others follow this technology quickly...
The problem is that some see it as an essential, and have no plan B, when in reality, it's only an additional tool that can be convenient.
I've online banked for years with an online only bank, wouldn't have it any other way except for when you need more cash than a machine will dish out. Then you need a branch. I ended up with 2 bank accounts just for that.
Dutch how that’s not garnered any likes is totally beyond me, she is absolutely fantastic. I’m gonna have to find that now on YouTube to share.
It's all well and good, but my phone is quite old, but works, but the upgrades to the banking app that worked fine previously, are beyond the level of my phone. I'm ****ed if I'm buying a phone just because their system's got too fat.
Online banking is brilliant. Why would you not do it? Having said that when Google's services all went down this lunchtime and I couldn't access my Calender, Drive or Gmail I was basically ****ed and had to resort to shouting at IT staff that I couldn't do any work and they needed to fix it. Not their fault apparently. Still, no harm in keeping them on their toes.
