deffo not 100% if only for the reason it was a pure KO comp and back then there were so many less countries taking part see Malmo for example - however it was obviously much harder to actually qualify . There was also the problem that often even the managers had no real idea about the oppo .
The old EUFA cup was arguably harder to win as there were more teams from the stronger leagues plus they were often the ones on the rise where as the champions had already peaked .
Would i prefer that we go back to that - yes in an instant but it cannot happen without a huge financial problem in elite European football .
