Ah but he just did the simple stuff REALLY well. A modern day class act. He was the perfect all rounder midfielder.

But he didn’t have that WOW factor.

Can’t really argue with that. Highly regarded as the best defender in the world. Pele even said it!

I guess the attack players always get the headlines but defending is an art and wins you games.
