I get were you are coming from, the club from an overall business perspective is in general terms being better managed, that said it's not in a sounder financial position from the point that The Allams took over, in fact the debt specifically is c£13m worse than when they acquired the club, plus they've managed to p*ss off the majority of stakeholders during their tenure.
Credit for creating and developing The Academy, but after the financial feast of The Prem days, I would have expected some degree of investment in building our own facilities and asset base.
Could do better, 6 out of 10!
I think the club had a lot more debt then was made out when they took over. Certainly more then £13m. The way Bruce was spending the club would have gone bust, seriously, and I heard that from the horses mouth.
I also believe money would have been spent on the stadium and training facilities IF they owned the ground but that was denied for one reason or another.
AA said you wouldn't build an extension on a council house, or something like that at the time, and they meant it.
People also forget that when Bartlett bought the club he used money from a loan on the KC, which he didn't own, to get the cash together. That had to be paid back, which in hindsight, i can see where the tale that AA 'wanted the stadium for nothing' comes from. He was already paying the mortgage on it !
As a supporter I'd have loved them to own the ground and to have increased the capacity. Also to build the training facilities/academy alongside it, but it was never going to happen whilst HCC remained the landlords. I think it's a huge missed opportunity that not a brick has been laid and no value has been added for our time in the Premier League.
Relationships with the fans have been shocking and the suggested name change was a disaster and appalling bad advice .which they took notice of.
Again the abolishing of the concessions, so two bad decisions there alone.
But, all is not lost, the club are on a sound financial footing despite all of the above, and the lack of income from March this year, and that in itself is worth a bit of praise surely ?
