Tagging of certain board members

Firstly I’m not speaking on behalf of these board members. This is just how I would feel.
The takeover thread is one that we all view frequently as we are all wanting the same information, namely “is it done yet?”
There are certain board members who we essentially rely upon to provide the information we all crave.
These board members are being continually tagged. If they haven’t configured their profile so that the alerts don’t show then they will all be getting multiple alerts daily which I guess could be a bit irritating to them.
I’m sure that when they have something to post they will. They are fans, the same as us.
Am I being irritated by proxy? I certainly don’t mean to annoy anyone by this post and if the respective board members are happy to get multiple alerts then so be it. As I said, I’m just stating how I would feel if it was me and like you all I’m a normal person who wants the same news as everyone else. I’m sure that on the thread I have even tagged them myself but the more I think about it the more I reckon they will be getting a bit irritated by it.
What’s the thoughts, especially of those board members concerned?

You probably don’t and your settings will be configured to get an alert to say that someone has posted. What I meant in my original post was when a user specifically tags another with the @ sign which after getting alerts from 20 users saying they have mentioned you in a post may be a bit tedious for that user.

I've done it out of courtesy when talking about what somebody has said. I think it's only fair if you name somebody that you tag them so that they can see and correct you if necessary,

Appreciate it may be annoying though so may stop.

I do it to @Nads when M'Vila is mentioned because he likes to be reminded of when we nearly signed him but went for NDong instead. God knows why, I find it depressing personally.

I think the ITKs will always post any big news but they might not be inclined to post any snippets if they're getting bombarded every time they show up so I leave them alone personally.

Well I do sometimes I go to bed crying on a night and my Mrs says rooch what are you crying for and through the tears I say have you seen how far farnborough is behind me ha ha lol.

I always try to respond if I'm tagged. Absolutely no problem if people are genuine.

Think, as you say @Evil Jimmy Krankie (no irony intended in tagging you), this is the way forward. I’d hope myself and Gordon Armstrong as mods would be told if there were problems but this forum almost runs itself and could nearly do without us (I said nearly)

I know I only tag people, like I have here, when talking directly to them about relevant matters. I’d hope everyone else does the same and not just “any news [tag person here] (probably smug!!)l
