yep gains are almost as quick as the losses back then! Although a few profit takers drag some back a bit .. not been tempted yet! Although have 3 irons in fire should they reach my expectation. one of my co conspirators made a poem up with respect to your denying Covid etc etc ... nothing to do with me being "uncomplimentary" ..I probably could have used a less sharp word! Blimey that's clearer! that's like the holy grail, been looking for it for ages .... every now and again a bit of info slips out .... on deaths, it has been posted that 85 -90% are persons over 65 ..... however other info like BLACK people are twice as likely to get it, other ETHNIC 1.5 x ....it does not apportion whether the over 65's % is proportionate to death! Occasionally odd info appears that certain intensities are caused by "lifestyles" / unconformants, the twats that think they are invincible or oppose law and order/ or simply by opportunists that break ranks at high days and holidays and think a day at the beach will be OK .. ONS must be able to publish a table saying who why when and where ... we see enough fed to us by media that it is not as simple as within 28 days ..... Note on a post somewhere published outbreak around family ... number being tested positive is now 38 with further tests wed /thurs.. this is within a circle of 4 families and an outer circle of 12 families [ also 5 others from son in laws workplace not included ] none fingers crossed in hospital.
One thing I'm certain of; I have more chance dying from Cancer than I do of Covid.. My family has history... Not once, not even a moment, within this outbreak, have I been concerned about it..... But sounds like you and your housemates are going through it...but unless any of you have any underlying health conditions, I would be pretty confident that you will all be fine.. Keep safe
yo think we established you live quite close to bs14/ bs13 so please keep safe as you are surrounded by at least 40 peeps who have it! oldest is 58 youngest is 6... yep 6, tested + , she is 2 of 5 in same family. A common denominator is the big green supermarket! I need shopping but going to Tesco when I feel comfortable to risk it! ... down to our last 20kgs of pasta and 10 packs of toilet rolls ... meat no problem plenty pigeons next doors cat and the bull dog down the road to go yet ..................
Risk it?? Chances of you getting it is 50 in a million, if you did get it chances of death is 1 in 2 million and recovery rate is 99.7%...No need to stock up mate
Yeah we must be very close. Experienced the chippy around the corner from it the other day, quite impressed I must admit I appreciate the nice words mate. But these numbers definitely aren’t correct, 50 in a million is miles off. I know of at least 8 people who have it now, 3 of them completely unrelated to my group. And while my symptoms have been fine, it’s been very unpleasant for some of them. Absolute pot luck as to whether it’s ok for you or terrible for you. Honestly Bristol is riddled with it now. I know people who have it who didn’t even bother getting tested because there’s no point. Not trying to point score after our last discussion, and I know it’s just anecdotal, but it’s everywhere at the moment around here.
50 in a million in a single day I should have put..oops .....but it's good you don't believe everything you read!!
Maybe you could let this lad know there's nothing to worry about A four-year-old boy has lost both his parents to COVID-19 within a few months. Raiden Gonzalez, from San Antonio in Texas, has been told by his grandmother that his mum and dad are "now angels, watching over us and protecting us". His mother Mariah, a teacher, died last month while his father, Adan, lost his life in the summer. please log in to view this image Image:Raiden's fifth birthday is later this month. Pic: Gonzalez family Mr Gonzalez, a truck driver, was treated in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus on 3 June. Doctors said he was one of the two most unwell patients they had seen, Raiden's maternal grandmother, Rozie Salinas, said. He died on 26 June at the age of 33. His wife, 29, died suddenly on 5 October, hours after beginning to feel ill.
this is probably one of many very sad stories we hear about ... not spoken to friend in Brazil for months ..last time July August ...he is in the less populated area in the NW. He ridiculed the figures coming out of Brazil Bac then, one comment was that as many were dead or dying in his region as the Government said were nationally... many of them were young - ish. I wonder how many orphans have been added to Brazils population due to this pandemic
Blimey mate, plenty of people & families die from all sorts of various conditions not just from Covid.. I've had most of my family wiped out by Cancer..which IMO is far far more dangerous..1 in 2 people now get it...compare that with covid and not forgetting the survival rate!! Not even close.. Not sure what you're trying to point out. Seems like plenty of people are making vast sums of money from it!! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54974...Xf5s9I0ZeU63tDrbEYUxHBwb0IPF0IfWfBBzfRLGL5D3Q
First things first, I’ve lost 2 family members in 18 months to cancer, so I hope you’re ok. However I think your missing the point, no one is disputing that people die of other things with a higher mortality rate. However cancer and Covid are 2 different things in that you can’t catch cancer but you can only get Covid by coming into contact with someone else who has it. Death is death and your conspiracy theory regarding this virus, was what Loathsneyd was getting at in tell the young boy. Who is grieving to lose 2 parents to something that you claim is not that bad. AIDS kill people, however the cause of death is something else, normally it’s pneumonia that kills them off. It may be underlying elements that Covid people die off, however coming into contact with Covid is the reason this was brought forward.
Yeah just to add to that, it's very easy to look at the figures and compare them directly with other illnesses, forgetting that these Covid numbers are AFTER we've gone and locked down, socially distanced, worn masks, etc. If we didn't do those things, as some (possibly you as well, not sure?) are suggesting, the numbers would be even higher. As I said before, the best metric we have to negate this "they would have died anyway" narrative is excess deaths. Think I read we surpassed 70,000 a day or 2 ago. More than the British civilian death count of the entire Second World War.
OK guys, this is the worst killer disease known to man. FFS Excess deaths, we've done that to death (excuse the pun) but we won't know for a few years and how it compares to other years..Fact..maybe more maybe less! Nobody knows for sure what lockdown or face masks etc has achieved, apart from misleading figures we are given!! Surely that would reduce the death rate for most things.such as flu, traffic accidents, work accidents, various other diseases that can cause deadly illnesses to those that have a low immune system .....lets not worry about people unable to get treatment or have life saving operations for far worse things, such as Cancer, Lung & Heart disease etc......but hey, lets not worry about that!! Lets not worry about people that will develop suicidal mental health due to losing their jobs or businesses, not being able to provide for their families. Lets not worry about families in general, not able to see one another, spend time with parents or grandparents that may not have much time left in this world. Lets be more concerned about this killer disease that 1. It's unlikely you will get it and if you do test positive, in most cases don't know you've had it. 2. If you do get it, it will be like having a bad dose of flu 3. The chances of you dying from it, is very very low and survival is extremely high 99.7%...(More chance of being struck by lightening and dying) 4. If you are quite ill from it, they now have many steroid type drugs that are able to treat it. 5. And now, we have more miracle vaccines available for this than probably any other bloody virus,,,,,from the researching & developing over decades to days of making them 95% effective!! Of all the other killers known to man, that wipe out families throughout this world..........COVID is the ultimate!! NB. I won't be having any vaccine, I'm very happy to take my chances!!..(unless I'm prevented to travel, which I'm sure we will also be controlled for that)
With all due respect mate, there's so much wrong with this post. I won't go over the bits we've already discussed but just a few points: - "In most cases you don't know you've had it" is plain wrong. I've been so lucky in that it hasn't affected me much, but my housemates have not been so lucky - "If you do get it, it will be like having a bad dose of flu". My girlfriend has sharp chest pains under her breastbone constantly. One of my other housemates is out of breath after going up 2 or 3 stairs, and needs multiple breaks. My work colleague's gran is on a ventilator (only found this out this morning). Another of my work colleague's who had it months ago still gets severe headaches from it - "Survival is extremely high", yes it is, but we have not yet hit the winter, and even if you do survive it, there is a good chance that you have permanent lung or heart damage. This has been shown particularly in asymptomatic cases I know you're a nice bloke from your posts even if we disagree all the time, and I know you don't mean to be offensive in it, but when I see you write that it's basically nothing, when I can SEE with my own eyes that the truth is completely different, it's a bit frustrating. And I haven't even mentioned my Mum who works in a hospital and sees it every day. They're clearing out particular wards (won't say which ones) to make more room for the expected cases as the existing ones are full. There are stories of people on their deathbed thinking they are going to get better, because they still don't believe this virus is a thing. You haven't appreciated how wrong this can go, and I really hope that you don't find out the hard way mate. Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I can tell you first hand it does.
Like most people I am absolutely shattered, frustrated but will remain cautious with my approach towards covid 19, I will obey the rules as instructed by our government and scientists, some of the rules are pointless but I intend that my wife I will survive, we have a will to live and enjoy future years with friends, neighbours and most of all my family, I won't go to a rave to the grave, go down town and beat up a copper, spread chaos, possible virus infection or just be a pain in the arse because I think I'm more important than the rest of the world population. I think there is justification in questioning all of the lockdowns, tier systems, trace and test and there is no doubt we have been misled with some of the facts and figures given to us but I compare us with the rest of the world, we are all suffering from the blight of the virus, it's a humankind, earthwide problem but we are surviving so far, we've got to continue and see this bugger off. Just like the majority of our people, I will continue to obey the rules, be a bit more frugal, try to retain some semblance of independence, trust the decisions handed down by our leaders whom I personally believe with the unknown problems handed to them are trying to cope on a daily basis to the best of their ability, I happen to trust them, both left and right and I won't become a luddite to convention I welcome the vaccine, having been one of the generation that benefitted from the TB/ Polio/ Measels/ Diphtheria vaccines, seeing how it has defeated smallpox worldwide, witnessing the battle against Aids and HIV and the advances, bearing in mind the billions which is being spent across the globe and the recent successful results I personally would be mental not to, it has to be done.
We all have our own opinions on the disease and the handling/mishandling of it, but with your Mum working in a Hospital, and you, your girlfriend and housemates all having had it, then you're better placed than most on here to comment on the symptoms and effects of the virus and the aftermath. When a proven vaccine is released for mass immunisation I shall be ready for my injection in the hope than a more normal life can resume.
Good And if anyone does deserve return to normality, it's the older generations who have been largely housebound and have followed the rules properly and been considerate to others in doing so. My grandad has been in the house near constantly and I can't wait for him to be able to experience the 'real world' again.
Sorry mate about the people you know or have heard about, but most of the effects you are illustrating are with a lot of illnesses, bad bout of flu can have almost the same effect, with the headaches & chest pains, I've seen it with many people including my own mother & eldest sister (when they were alive) whom both also had COPD..bed ridden, with chest pains gasping for breath, having to be aided by oxygen..and quite often had to have a nebuliser ............1000's of people have COPD which is permanent lung damage .. My Father had Prostrate cancer for 5 years before he died.....but didn't actually die of that, he died due to infections around his lungs as his immune system was so low...But his death certificate showed Cancer.................nothing more.....you see where I'm going with this don't you??. I'm not saying it's nice if you get Covid, I'm not saying it can't make you extremely ill in some instances, but perspective is required here.. Please. Give me the other points that I'm so wrong about, I know you're dying too!! By the way, one of these miracle vaccines I've read about somewhere (Not FB Rod) was tested on 43,000 odd volunteers of which only 94 tested positive. Based on those 94 people, the vaccine is 90% effective. and on that basis (worth billions) they want to sell it to the world!!.Not sure how true that is, but just as feasible as the stuff we're fed on a daily basis......I think I will take my chances!! .
