Notice how they used the wrongly disallowed winning goal from that game when Everton beat us 2-2 to show how **** the whole thing is.

Anyone reckon we'll ever go back to basics? It's quite clear that VAR is still open to human error or interpretation so all we've done is slow down the game by having offside line checks and refs going to view monitors.

After that Everton game and that goal that wasn't given, I've not celebrated a goal like I used to, now I'm waiting after every one to see if they **** us.

Will it improve or will it become so disruptive to thr game it eventually gets binned.

Cos let's have it right, over here it's been utter ****in dogshit so far.

rest of us(apart from Pool fans) been doing that since last season

For me the problem is simple to resolve, just don't deem an arm/hand offside, it gives no advantage, other than for pointing.

Overall its not improved the game for me, or made it any more fair. In fact I'd say its ruined the best bits about the game, the euphoria of a goal, now we're all waiting 3mins to see if it's OK to celebrate, the jock keeper was a great example of that last week, saved the pen, his team running towards him Hyped af and he's shouting at the ref "is it good? is it a save?, can I celebrate now?."

Now you got rivals celebrating disallowed goals like they just scored its changed the joyous moments we follow football for into something different.

@Libby was right

Obviously you won't know me from my Gills adventures, but I've always been against the technology mate. The only one I begrudgingly ever accepted, was goal line technology, mainly because it proved to me it was not prone to error.

Us fans assumed he’d left for the dosh but there were plenty of stories about him falling out with Kendall during his pretty disastrous 3rd spell as manager when he was clearly not well himself, as the bottle had consumed him. But every time he came back to Goodison he got absolute pelters, probably at a level of vitriol only surpassed by what was dished out to Barmby after he went to the RS.

Sad times mate when I think back.

Could never bring myself to give him stick. Liked him so much, just a shame we were such a mess when he was with us.

The only stand out VAR moment for me was when we had a penalty and cos they were so 50/50 about the penalty, the analysts quite obviously stalled for time by counting pixels on an offside decision. Which was miles onside, and then decided to go with the penalty anyway.

Took ****ing ages and was just annoying.

Its a swell idea, but its run by ****ing moronic **** nuggets.

I like the Goaline tech as it has none of the flaws of VAR as everyone just accepts the decision plus it actually speeds up the game which is the exact opposite of the farce that is VAR .

Apart from that one game, when VAR should still have caught the ****-up and failed.

I doubt Bournemouth fans agree with that like.

i didn't say it was infallible and hey there are still linesmen and Var ( though if we're lucky the latter will get binned ) who also failed as PnP pointed out . Plus since that game an extra camera has been added so unlikely to happen again but if it does so what it will still have massively more support than Var as it doesn't **** up games without even having the bonus of giving decisions people actually agree with - an example being ,on this board at least , Spurs fans moaning about Sheff Utds "goal" against them being ruled offside .<applause>

There’s no chance VAR will be binned imo. What needs to happen is a review of its use, especially in offside decisions, together with a change in the handball rule. Both sit with IFAB / FIFA, so the chances of them getting it right in the short term are slim.

oh i agree Var won't be binned but it is and will always be **** .

I don’t agree that it’ll always be ****. I think if the authorities actually ****ing listen for once and simply implement some common sense changes, it’ll end up being what it was always intended to be, which was to rid the game of blatantly wrong decisions. The question is simply, how long that’ll take imo.

Spain absolutely superb against Germany tonight.

Southgate probably trying to work out how to get an extra defender in the team for when we play them.

Of forgot, we beat them when we went toe to toe but he's ripped that plan up <ok>
