Farrah is a great athlete, but he's not British. It demeans our sporting history if we try and claim the glory from someone else's athletes, like the sad Zola Budd episode. How grasping and needy did we look ?.
I try to do my bit. I recycle( like everyone else these days). My next car will be a hybrid or fully electric. I got a jacket repaired this winter( granted, it was only a broken zip) as opposed to binning it and going out a buying a new one. I get milk delivered in glass bottles to reduce my carbon footprint. My daughter is a full in eco warrior. I don’t own a private jet. I fly once a year, at most. I think I’m responsible and do my bit. What I don’t appreciate is some **** who has lost all touch with reality pontificating to all and bastard sundry about climate change when his lifestyle contradicts everything he preaches. Absolute hypocrite. But he can drive a broom broom car really fast so that’s alright. Future generations will look on what we’ve done to this planet and judge us. Him and his profession will not be looked upon favourably. IMO.
Just for a bit of balance, The technology produced from F1 cars has probably contributed to the majority of fuel efficiency savings in road cars the world over. It’s highly likely that factoring this in makes F1 carbon negative.
I've got a hybrid car as new company car, imo I wouldn't bother unless you drive less then 20 miles each way and have a charging point at either end.... For me it's absolutely useless in the real world but a huge saving in BIK if it's a company car
