    Just a query lads,

This is our last season of our current contract with Umbro, do you think that is why the kits are being sold off so cheap now to get rid of all the stock?

Umbro have made us some canny kits but they are canny nothing spectacular but I suppose they could be worse.

Kappa, Nike or Adidas hopefully for next season

I loved the Nike gear, and i think the Umbro gears been decent, but i'd like Adidas.

I like the look of the Stoke shirt this season, that'd be a pointer to ours.

So long as we don't end up with one of these crappy ones the likes of West Ham and Birmingham have!

Nope umbro are still in until the end of next season, so it will just be because the club geting rid, they are probably hoping we'll get europe and we'll need a blank white patch on the back of the shirt for uefa regulations.

hate to say it given they are the current and previous mag kit makers, but puma and adidas make the best ones imo. used to like nike (thought our kits were decent, but we were a bit of a poor relation compared to some others), but i feel they've gone way down hill.

bruceysbeak - i'm not sure on the stoke one, where the stripes meet it's got a weird diamond pattern and i think it's too busy on the top, plus i hate a solid back panel - stripes front and back please!!

anyone remember those kappa mock-ups?? those please.

are you sure we still have another year after this one?

I was positive this season was our last

If it is next year it ends the same time as the tombola deal

    Kappa? are you serious?
No way should we get Adidas either what with the skunk affiliation though in all fairness they do make a decent strip but nothing better than what we have at the moment.
I liked the Nike strips, aside from our current away shirt which is awesome, they were the best I've known in nearly 2 decades.

Billy, you're having a giraffe, mate.
Poor relation? I fail to see how. Nike were infinitely better than Asics or Lonsdale? They were piss poor.

You mean like our current home top?

Go back to Nike or stick with Umbro would be my preference.
I won't be buying the new strip if it's made my Kappa that much is certain. I've not seen the mock-ups but I have seen your typical Kappa wearer

I aint a fan of the Roma colours but the style of the shirts are quite nice and different to adidas, umbro and nike which are pretty much all the same nowadays

poor relation in that i felt we were given an identikit outfit, barely a step up from ones any sunday league team can buy from nike online, compared to the bespoke ones made for barca, inter and arsenal at the time. sorry i offended you.

actually, the small diamond pattern on ours is less pronounced than the stoke one, and i dislike it on ours as well, thanks, and stand by my other opinions too, no back panel, no shoulder patches.

you haven't seen the kappa mock ups, but you are qualified to comment on them?? good for you.

also, we can't have adidas because they made newcastle shirts once upon a time?? grow up.

moot anyway, seems we won't be getting a new shirt, but when we do, i hope we do get kappa. one, because the shirts they make are quality, and two, because i'd love to see the look on your face if we did get them. how you can base an opinion on a brand from an association with an unfunny stereotyping sketch show from five years ago is baffling, quite frankly. i suppose you think all welsh men are gay as well??

    @Billy
Oh i see: Identikit. and poor compared to other Nike strips. clarification was all I was after. I was just chuffed that Nike would even consider making a strip for lowly old us. Like you said they been making strips for Barca and Inter for years while we've had to put up with the likes of Asics and Avec prior to that and Lonsdale afterwards.

I just couldnt bring myself to wear a Kappa strip (I did try to find pics of the mock-ups to no avail). A close friend is a Spurs fan and I've seen every iteration of their strip ever since Kappa started making them. The designs look good but the thought of a skin-tight shirt just makes me cringe - think it's the high round neck mostly that would put me off.
I hope to god Kappa don't ever make them for Newcastle - then again their fans never seem to want to wear their replica shirts on the terraces or at least the TV only ever wants to show them nips oot!

I did concede that Adidas are a great brand, I'd still buy the strip if they made, but I'd be surprised if the fact they used to make Newcastle strips wasn't considered when thinking about our next manufacturer. You know how considerate SNQ is.

You won't see the look on my face if Kappa do make our strip, mate. It's a chat forum. I might afford you a disgusted smilie though :undecided:

    haha fair enough.

to be fair though, only the xxxl replica shirts don't come up skin tight on the mags.

I would prefer adidas to make the kits. Always think they produce top designs Milan, Bayern Munich etc. Ojo mate you have nicked my Avatar.

Funnily enough, the first time I heard someone comment on the "squares" was just last week. WBA's shirts make the numbers difficult to read, and part of the reason for that is colour. Black against dark blue/white stripes. I was surprised that they were getting away with it.

I'm not crazy about our kit for this season for the same reason that other's have mentioned. The diamond effect. It's not how the shirt should look. Clearly marked stripes in my book every time. As long as it conforms to that criteria I'm happy, but I don't like to see daft little markings all over the shoulders and under the arms etc just to differentiate from what's gone before. There also seems to have been some messing around with the tone of the red at times which is unnecessary.

    Fashion victim me.
