How about the fact that when the game first started, the puck used to be square?
Was that so it was easier to take corners?

In all seriousness, the one that really galls me is when American rural/urban types say "I seen them" instead of "I saw them" or "I have seen them." It was especially irritating in college when someone would be presenting a report on something like rock and roll in Mexico in the early 1960's and they would say, "Ramirez was inspired to start the band when he seen Elvis on American television." FFS, at that point, they've been in school for about 15 years and should be able to speak a little bit, wouldn't you say?!?
Also, I have a friend who verbalizes the text term "rofl." As in, "That made me rofl." Urrgghh...

I'm glad to see that bad spelling/grammar is a universal thing.
