The referee had the best view in the house, he was looking directly at Dozell's challenge and must have saw the studs up high.

Considering the referee was very lenient during the game and had let loads go no one can say he was card happy on the day.

And the fact that, despite Paul Lambert was raging and said it was never a red card, the independent committee didn’t overturn it! Thought it looked a poor challenge and turns out I was right (as a lot were)

Even if it was one of ours I'd struggle to make a case.

He was horizontal, studs up and both feet off the ground.

It was a red even if there was no contact ...

... but there was contact, get over it Lambert.

The Referee to be fair could not have been better placed unlike Lambert who would have had a worse view than the TV pictures , the penalty correctly given as the players arms were way above his head , with current handball rules it was an accident waiting to happen Ref called it right as harsh as it seems .

The Mark Halsey who never sent off Callum Macmanaman for the tackle on Haidara, that Mark Halsey? I know he was a mag, but that goes down as one of the worst decisions in red card/no red card history. He admitted this year that it was the worst mistake of his careeer for “missing the challenge”, that would have seen him sent off.
Come on you bumbling buffoon, if you “missed it”, you can’t make a decision on something you haven’t seen. He can’t even openly admit to making the wrong decision. He clearly didn’t miss the incident, he made an error, an inexcusable error and now has the gall to sit there and criticise what most people, including a refereeing panel, thought was a genuine red card. This looking down of Former Premier League, or current ones for that matter, on lower league referees is ****ing ****. That’s what you get for classing themselves as elite I suppose. They think they are elitist and we know what that brings don’t we?

In a nutshell - this sums up the issue with referees. My brother is quite high up at Barclays and has often, in the Barclays PL, been to conventions where these referees are attending. They get questioned by people about decisions - only Dowd and Clattenburg were willing to own up to mistakes apparently. Both would happily say "Yeah I got that wrong" the rest simply would refuse to speak to people if they questioned them.

Refs are a lore unto themselves. They can do what they want on the field and have no one to answer to effectively as they're backed 99% of the time by PGMOL.

I wouldn't mind seeing refs miked up like they are in American Football and maybe hear them explain decisions to players/managers at the time and then maybe interviewed after the game.

I don’t get this. If a ref is **** for one team and not the other, how is it evening itself up when they’re getting decisions right which, with hindsight, they have the last few games
 
“It’s arguably reckless,"... as soon as he said that he lost any argument that he was trying to make followed by the mental refs needing to be 100% sure. how many times have we seen a ref and linesman stare at each other wondering what to give?

unfortunately, these new hand ball rules are the ****tiest of the **** rules, a man cannot defend while pinning his own arms to his body while trying to turn/jump/balance so the penalty was the right call, much as i also disagree with it.
