Jose is a clown, Alli it's fairly young and has talent you just need someone to get the best out of him but Jose is such a dick he'll throw him under the bus and demand a player, be told no and sulk until sacked.
I'm surprised he's frozen him out. I would've thought he'd have been part of Jose's plans when he took over. I also don't think one match after a month in the wilderness (his performance probably showed a player who was more conscious about not making mistakes rather than playing his natural game) is a fair reflection of how good he is.

Leicester City may be a good fit for him, under Brendan. I think Brendan would get the best out of him. And Alli is more than capable of fighting for a place in the regular starting line up there, he'd link up well with Vardy too. But Alli may see that as a step down.

Dele's been turd for going on three years now though, this really isn't Jose being a dick or anything, I've criticised Jose on our board in recent matches as his tactics and sub choices have been really off but his decision making with Dele has been spot on. His form began to drop after the 16/17 season where we finished 2nd, he done decent in 17/18 but since then he's been a hindrance than an asset, nearly Harry Winks level hindrance.

We've had two good managers to work with him now and barring Dele's first couple of seasons, he's failed to look anywhere near like the player he can be.

He needs a fresh start because he won't be a starting player at Spurs any more, I think his best bet is to go Germany more so than moving to another English club. Germany seems like a stat-padding haven, decent players can look brilliant over there and I think Dele would be able to rack up a good number of goals and assists to get his career back on track.

That was said about a certain player at United.

What are clubs supposed to do, pander to the player and change managers according to those whims?

Or should the players actually just do their ****ing job?

I fall into the latter opinion myself, and United did the former, which was a mistake.

By and large I'd agree with that. But I don't think that's the case here with Alli.

Well the alternative is he's not currently good enough to get in the 1st eleven and the manager is making the correct call.

Amounts to a similar conclusion, but I'm baffled by the idea Dele Ali should be picked because of who he (allegedly) is and that it's down to Mourinho somehow.

I would've said he was good until end of 2018 and then his form started to dip. And can you single him out prior to Poch's departure. I'd say the problem was with a number of players.

Has he really given him a chance though?

I've not said any of that. Players dip in form. I've only commented on whether a manager can get the best out of him.

Not sure he would get in ... Maddison and Tielemans both ballers, Praet also a full international with Belgium ... nowhere near Ndidi (or Papys Mendy) in the defensive role ... and Barnes and now Under starting to link really well with Vardy and both are rapid ...

Brendan would improve him mind ... fully agree

He'd create and score more than your other attacking mids though?

There's definitely been a bunch of players who've been a problem. It's why Poch got sacked, he got too close to them all and that seemingly ****ed with his thought process as he didn't bin those on a decline or underperforming. Compare the Poch that joined us to the one that was sacked and they were two different guys. He was ruthless but fair when he joined, he was a soft touch when he left.

Jose's in the process of finally overhauling it and making those tough decisions, there's still a few more that need the Dele treatment though. I'm having jelly and ice cream the day Harry Winks ****s off out of the club, honestly the ****test player I've seen to get so many starts and minutes for this team. We've had some dross in the past but they've generally been binned fairly quickly, this ****'s stayed in and around the XI for about 3 or 4 years now. He must have pictures of Poch, Levy and Jose naked, only logical reason I can think of.

I dunno man, it's deffo a valid debate.

Currently at least.

@FosseFilberto can tell us why better than me

If you can't command a place in a Big 6 team you have to look elsewhere ... we are looking good to be challenging for Europe for the next few years (as are Everton and Wolves) but we have also been far more successful than Spurs in the last decade (which the others haven't) ... Jonny Evans is certainly enjoying the 'step down' ... <cheers>

<ok>

Interesting that about Poch. To think he's been linked to us heavily. And that is the last thing we need in a manager. Certainly something to bear in mind.

Really?

Who does he play ahead of at Everton?

He’s been way off form for a couple of years now, not for me.

Depends on how we set up, I would have him ahead of Sig or Gomes. He has a bit of everything, plus a nasty little edge when at his best. Would hi offer more going forward than Allan or Dacoure - yes. Defensively no. Woudl he offer more than Rodriguez going forward - at this time no, but it woudl be clear he offers more in workrate/defensive cover
