If it was very hot in the summer it will have been 76. Long hot summer that was.

We last played them at home on the 29th September 2012, in the championship. Sadly we lost 3-1.
In the away fixture Jan 2013, we drew 1-1.

They're all banned from our house. They won't let me in theirs so it's only fair.

I know 75 s hot but 76 was notoriously record breaking. One of the main reasons for remembering this is it was my first full year working in Greenhouses (Burstwick Hedon Growers).

76 was much hotter. I think it was that year. I met the person I went with in 75 when we were both doing a summer job on the wharf at the end of Clough Road but I can't remember if we saw 10cc that summer or in 76.

What the f was Elder doing .... he lost possession thinking he was Mesi on his own 25 yard line and then when the cross came ij for the lad to score, he stood alongside Ingram and didn't even attack the ball.... FFS.... he's infuriating some weeks he looks above this level and then others he's rubbish...

The drive down for the drawn game was terrible, I went A46 and it still had snow all over it - bang average game on a freezing cold day but, it was always a good away end, that low roof made for brilliant acoustics. All standing in '13 as well.

What I remember about the summer of '76, apart from it being hot, is that Tony Grieg vowed to 'make the tourists grovel'., referring to the W Indies touring side which included Viv Richards and Michael Holding. Needless to say we were annihilated in both the test and ODI series.
    Never did like Tony Grieg...

Didn't that stand get seating in pretty much straight after that?

I think you're right, I saw a clip of one of their games later in the season and work was ongoing to turn it all seater.

I worked in JR Bean's greenhouses at Welton about the same time, decent money for back then.

If those were the ones more or less alongside the A63 I worked there late 60's. Good money but you did have to work for it.
