It was sold on the basis that it would overcome (understandable) on-field errors by the referee. Instead, the FA just hide behind procedure when the VAR officials frequently **** up. At this rate we'll need VAR for VAR. And then doubtless VAR for VAR for VAR.

Except it isn't serious foul play as it only fits 2 or 3 of the criterion needed to be considered serious foul play. Of course, you did check the criterion for what constitutes serious foul play, didn't you? You know, just to make sure you were on solid ground and weren't going to look a dick head before arguing for 2 days?

Frigging dickhead. Taken straight from the FA's own website on Rule 12:

"SERIOUS FOUL PLAY

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play."

We all just ignoring how much of a player Phillips looks in this Leeds team? I've only seen him play in 4 games, 3 for Leeds in which he has looked like probably the best CM England have and then one for England in which he didn't even look good enough to play for Leeds.
 
I’ve read some off the scale hypocrisy about this issue on SM.

Red Men TV for example, discussed in the lead up to the derby how Robertson was going to ‘nail’ Rodriguez. Then during the game early on they’re cheering and laughing as Van Dijk goes through Rodriguez twice. Go ‘ed lad you’ve mashed his knackers there lad.

Robertson deliberately kicks out at Allan on the back of his calf, not a word.

Since the game, at least one of the leading RS social media accounts has openly condoned the idea of Pickford being ‘leathered’. There’s now been numerous threats to him and his wife on SM, plus racist abuse for Richarlison. Merseyside Police have called it out tonight and are now investigating those responsible.

I don’t like to see any player injured, but unfortunately it happens, but the exact same people who’ve done the things I’ve listed above are crying their eyes out about this incident, chatting all kinds of wham about it whilst clutching their pearls, yet they’re complete ****ing hypocrites.

FA / ref / VAR etc have all gone against your view on the matter.

Reel your neck in, accept the use of the rules, forget the diagrams and interpretation.. get on Twitter and stuff and cry with the others. DemNd a public flogging or a two point compensation for getting a VAR decision against you.

Robertson didn’t need to nail Rodriguez, VVD did him and DCL in the first 90 seconds. Their keeper left studs on DCL in first half and nothing said, you can see blood on him after. So I wish VVD a speedy recovery, but the hypocritical RS, nah.

Tobes, if you mean me I've said from the off that I have no malice for Prickford, and that I've seen worse challenges in derbies over the years (finding it hard to remember one that wasn't punished at all though). My beel is with VAR, the inept officials who administer it, and the FA's armadillo like procedures that stop any scrutiny of the users of it. Oh, that and the posters on here that make up bogus rules and interpretations of the existing ones. :emoticon-0143-smirk

Btw, where you not on the Liverpool board when I condemned any suggestions of Pickford being harassed? I was sure you were. :emoticon-0112-wonde
